💪✨ Kerrville February Members of the Month: Doug & Deb ✨💪

Meet Doug and Deb—our February Members of the Month and the definition of fitness as a lifestyle. This powerhouse duo has been workout partners for an incredible 38 years!

Doug’s fitness journey began early, inspired by comics and TV shows, and later shaped by his time as an Army Veteran, where full-body health became non-negotiable. Thank you, for your service! Deb shares that same mindset, focusing on consistency and maintaining a high quality of life—especially as they enjoy their retirement years together.

Their dedication is unmatched:
🏃‍♂️ Daily morning stretching
🐕 4-mile walks with their pups
🏋️‍♀️ Strength training 4 days a week

They’ve faced injuries, setbacks, and even knee surgery—but never accepting defeat. Both emphasize the importance of getting back in the gym as soon as possible and staying committed. Doug recently crushed a 500 lb leg press post-knee surgery! 💥

Doug is most proud of competing in the 1991 Texas Body Championship, while Deb celebrates her continued health and physical capabilities. Together, they credit their success to consistency, patience, and—most importantly—having each other as motivation. Doug reminds us all that progress takes time; it took him 10 years to reach his strict personal goals and introduction into the competition world.

Doug and Deb want Kerrville to know how much they love the welcoming atmosphere here at Taylor Fitness. Attributing it to their continued motivation and unwavering dedication to fitness. We’re proud to have you both as part of our community! ❤️

This month, we're celebrating one of our most dedicated members, Brayden Hammack, as our Member of the Month here in Kerrville!

Brayden has been putting in incredible work, and it shows. He recently crushed his personal goal of reaching 180 lbs.

Not only that, but he also hit a major milestone with his strength training, hitting an impressive 315 lb. squat! On top of all the progress with his weight and strength, he has also significantly increased his overall stamina.

Brayden's hard work, commitment, and positive attitude are an inspiration to everyone here at Taylor Fitness.

Since joining Taylor Fitness, Luke has been a fantastic example of what hard work and a great attitude can achieve. We've all seen him put in the effort, and it's paid off in a big way. His hard work has resulted in improved focus and incredible stamina, which he brings to every workout.

Summer Berry Protein Parfait

As the Texas heat rolls in, it’s time for something cool, refreshing, and packed with nutrition! This month’s pick is a Summer Berry Protein Parfait—an easy, no-cook, layered treat that tastes like dessert but fuels your body like a meal.

Why We Love It:

Quick & Easy to make (no stove required)

High in protein and antioxidants

Perfect for breakfast, post-workout, or an afternoon snack

Ingredients (1 serving):

¾ cup nonfat Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)

½ scoop vanilla protein powder (optional but adds extra protein)

¼ cup fresh strawberries, sliced

¼ cup fresh blueberries

2 tablespoons granola or oats

1 teaspoon honey (optional)

Directions:

Mix Greek yogurt and protein powder until smooth.

In a cup or bowl, layer half the yogurt mixture, then half the fruit.

Repeat the layers. Top with granola and a drizzle of honey.

Chill or serve immediately!

June Challenge of the Month: 30 Minutes a Day

Summer is here, and it's the perfect time to refocus on your health and make movement a daily habit. This month’s Taylor Fitness Challenge is simple, effective, and meant for everyone—no matter where you're at in your fitness journey.

🔥Here’s the challenge:🔥
Do 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day in June.

That’s it! Just a half-hour a day to boost your energy, support your goals, and build momentum. You can walk, lift, swim, jog, bike, stretch, or mix it up—just keep your body moving and your heart rate up.
