Ok so things are starting to warm up for the Hill Country Edge. Seeds have started to be planted. The word of the Edge football team coming to town is spreading. Conversations have been started and open dialogue is slowly progressing at a fashionable pace. We have made contact and been requested to write a proposal to the city, and parks and recreation. I am glad to announce that that proposal is being turned in tomorrow around 3pm or so. This proposal will be to turn one of the old soccer fields into a football field under the lights. Then we have a 30 day waiting period to see if we are approved. My challenge to you is when I say go, please email parks and recreation and tell them why and if you would like to see a minor pro football league in Kerrville. We have been invited to play in the Texas United Football Association or tufa for short for the 2022 season. It is an 11 man league started in 09 with 6 teams and has grown to over 22 teams as of this current ongoing season. There is opportunities available that are once in a lifetime. Every year one team from the league has the chance to play teams from California, Georgia, and many other possible states. There was a team from this league that just was asked to join a semi-pro paid league. In the next few weeks a team from California is paying for another team to play them in the Cowboys Stadium. This is a very big chance to build something in Kerrville. We have other league sports. Why can’t we start a football team too? We will play teams from Austin and San Antonio during the regular season and teams from further during the playoffs if we make them. This is not just an idea. This is a dream that is so close to being accomplished. Please help us achieve this dream. We have enough players interested and signed up right now to field a 60 man team. We will also scout and have combines too. It is an 18 year or older league except 17 with a parents consent and permission.
