On this somber Memorial Day morning, cadets from Foxtrot Flight (Ponchatoula Junior & High School) honored our fallen by posting and retiring the Colors to bookend today’s ceremony. In addition, these dedicated cadets placed an American flag on the grave of every fallen hero at the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.

Today, we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we, as a nation, could live in freedom. We are forever grateful for their service and their bravery.

Over the past two and a half weeks, our Color Guard answered the call of duty by volunteering to present our Nation’s Colors a total of 12 times.

Their service included 1 Change of Command ceremony, 6 high school graduations, 3 middle school graduations, a community festival, and a Memorial Day ceremony.

In addition, Foxtrot cadets led the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance and the processional, demonstrating professionalism, pride, and dedication throughout the event.

Last night, Hotel Flight proudly presented the Colors for the first time at the Roseland Montessori Schools 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony.

These cadets began the year as Airman Basics and grew into well-rounded, disciplined Noncommissioned Officers through hard work, leadership, and dedication.

With distinction and honor, C/SSgt Daniel Smith commanded the Color Guard detail and presented the American flag. C/TSgt John Hoover presented the state flag, while C/TSgt Charles Pfeffer served as Senior Rifle and C/SSgt Colton Kinchen served as Junior Rifle.

Outstanding job, cadets — your professionalism and commitment were on full display.
