Today, three of our cadets from Jewel Sumner High School’s Alpha Flight had the opportunity to visit surrounding elementary schools and read to students alongside other student-athletes and band members.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our cadets to give back to the community where they grew up while promoting literacy and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Great job, cadets! Your leadership, commitment to service, and dedication to giving back to your community are truly an inspiration. Keep making a difference, one book and one student at a time!

We are proud to recognize C/1st Lt Bradly Berrian of Loranger High School (Charlie Flight) and C/2nd Lt Madilynn Gardner of Sumner High School (Alpha Flight) for each receiving a $500 scholarship from the Louisiana State Fair Association in recognition of their outstanding service to their communities!

Over the past four years, both cadets have contributed more than 150 hours of community service each, demonstrating their dedication to serving others and making a positive impact. Their commitment reflects the values of leadership, service, and citizenship that our organization strives to instill in every cadet.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding cadets on this well-deserved recognition! We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing all they achieve in the future!

This past weekend, our cadets had the unique opportunity to visit the airport at NASA’s Stennis Space Center and tour the facilities. They also had the chance to see a variety of airplanes and helicopters up close, making it an exciting and memorable experience!

Our squadron would like to extend a special thank-you to Lts. Brandon and Yolonda Taylor for arranging this wonderful tour, as well as SM Richelle Hoover and Lt. Cyndi Everard for helping ensure our cadets made it there and back safely.

Cadets from Alpha Flight at Jewel Sumner High School had the opportunity to teach a select group of 5th-grade students at Spring Creek Elementary about proper flag etiquette!

The cadets demonstrated how to properly fold the flag, post the Colors, and retrieve the Colors. The lesson was a great success, giving the students valuable hands-on learning while promoting respect for our nation’s flag and its traditions.

Great job, cadets! Thank you for being outstanding ambassadors and leaders in your community!

This past Tuesday night, cadets from Juliet Flight (Sumner Middle School) and Alpha Flight (Sumner High School) proudly presented the colors at the final Jewel Sumner Middle School football game of the season!

This past week was bittersweet as our seniors from Alpha and Bravo Flights were honored during the Jewel Sumner High School Senior Night football game, where they proudly presented the Colors.

This incredible group of cadets has been a cornerstone of the excellence and success of the Tangipahoa Cadet Squadron. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our core values have helped shape our squadron into what it is today. As they prepare to graduate, they leave behind a lasting legacy and a strong foundation for the next generation of cadets to build upon.

Recently, cadets from Charlie Flight at Loranger High School learned valuable emergency medical skills, including how to use tourniquets, splints, and wraps to treat injuries they may encounter during search and rescue missions.

Emergency Services (ES) is one of the four missions our cadets focus on as they prepare for real-world scenarios. These hands-on experiences help build the knowledge, confidence, and skills they may one day use if they choose to pursue careers in the military or as first responders.

This past week, the cadets of Foxtrot Flight at Ponchatoula Junior High School proudly presented the Colors at their final football game of the season. During this special event, the 8th-grade cadets were recognized as they prepare to move on to high school next year.
