Congrats to Eric on this amazing achievement!
Eric Watt has enjoyed a tremendous career in football … and today he is recognized for it with his induction into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.
Eric is a 2006 graduate of South Newton High School, where he excelled as a quarterback, passing for 7,725 yards and 82 touchdown. During his senior season, he passed for 3,447 yards and 45 touchdowns. Eric still holds almost all of South Newton’s game, season and career passing records.

After his outstanding high school career, Eric took his academic and athletic career to even higher heights while attending Trine University.
From 2008 to 2010, Eric led The Thunder to three consecutive Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships and was named all-conference for three years. The 2010 season capped off a fantastic career as the Thunder finished the regular season with a 10-0 record, eventually finishing the season 11-1. He was a four-year starter, posted a career record of 37-7 and was named Trine’s Top Male Athlete in 2011.
After the 2010 season, Eric was selected as winner of the Gagliardi Trophy, given to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III and considered the Division III equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.
For his senior season, Eric earned All-American honors and led the nation in passing efficiency.
Following college, Eric played one season of professional football in Italy for the Bologna Warriors and took his team to the league semi-finals. He has been inducted into the South Newton Hall of Fame and the Trine University Hall of Fame.
