A year ago we made a post saying that we would not be attending the Collegiate Club Fencing Championships due to unforeseen issues with our transportation. This year, we're very happy to announce that the Oberlin College Flaming Blades WILL be competing in this event!

We're sad to report that, despite our best efforts, the Oberlin Flaming Blades were unable to attend the Collegiate Club Fencing Championships this year, due to unexpected issues with our transportation. For the first time in a very long time, Oberlin was planning on bringing complete squads for each event, and we even had alternates for several of them. This is no small accomplishment for what has long been a rather small fencing program.

There's no denying that this is a disappointing turn of events for us. But there is also no denying that this has been a very successful season for Oberlin, and that all of our fencers should be immensely proud of themselves. Despite the adversity we have faced this year, we will continue to look forward, and plan on an even more exceptional performance in the years to come. And, as always, we will do everything we can to promote the sport of fencing in the Oberlin community.

The Flaming Blades' first home tournament of the year, our annual Turkey Stab, was a definite success this Sunday! We had a fantastic turnout, with more people attending than we've seen in quite some time. Congratulations are in order to all our Oberlin fencers, who showed tremendous determination and skill, and especially to coach Johnny Ana (epee) and saber fencer Jonah Glasgold, who each won bronze in their respective events.
