Did you know... horses can smell the stress hormones that accompany human or equine fear?

"Anxiety fills the air near our arguments, polluting the barns where our horses live. These scents linger for a long time, even though we do not have the capacity to detect them," writes .

"Horses have all the neural machinery for odor detection that bloodhounds have. To give you an idea of just how sensitive that is, bloodhounds can detect a scent 12 days old from 12 miles away. Your horse has no trouble smelling anxiety in the barn aisle."

Happy gorgeous morning, friends ☀️

We are expanding the care team and will be looking for our next part time addition. Saturday afternoon shift available now, with Friday afternoon shift opening when our trusty teenager has to head back to school. Additional pick up hours available from time to time.

Afternoon shift includes turn in, feeding, resetting grain for the morning, stall upkeep as needed, and miscellaneous barn/tidying chores (1230/1-5). We have a terrific barn team and family of boarders. 14 horse barn, plus 7 horses who live out with run-ins. For this role, we do need a team member with good experience (particularly with horse handling and working independently). Competitive hourly pay.
