RBs first trip to Masters Worlds / JJCon … it was a fun and rewarding experience for our team.
Huge shoutout to BJJLINK, Tago AC and the crew for always being supporting, providing team with snacks, water and a booth to hang out at with storage, all while providing a fantastic presence at Worlds.
Our focus this weekend was on performance and strategy rather than results. It was a nice way to bond with some of our team and watch them do their absolute best despite feeling nervous and anxious.
Erni cleaned up his division and got 🥇, also earning his Blue Belt on the podium. Ernie has been on a streak of wins and has been competing avidly for the last year, collecting wins at many locals. He has earned his Blue belt through blood sweat and tears. Congratulations Erni.
Stephanie C. , his wife, competed alongside him, taking it all the way to the finals, and coming up extremely short of first place herself, earning 🥈. Steph has been competing alongside her family and her progress shows at every single competition.
Lydia Coleman🐻 returns to worlds after a 2 year break, post partum and post ACL reconstruction, and makes a fun comeback. Professor Lydia had some fun matches including an all out Judo match against one of her components. Lydia brings home 🥉.
Dayane Rafael faced the hardest challenge out of the whole group. Fighting the #2 seed and a seasoned blue belt, Dayane was able to go the duration on the march, losing to points. This is Dayane’s debut at Blue Belt, and just like the rest of the team, we’re taking the info back to the lab and working on things.
