Kenai Peninsula Fencing Club

Kenai Peninsula Fencing Club Learn and practice the modern sport of fencing. Novices (7 years and up) and seasoned fencers welcome All sessions are facilitated by Peter Gundunas.

A little about our Club...KPFC is a member of the United States Fencing Associations and therefore adheres to the rules of conduct and requires all students to join the USFA and maintain current membership to actively engage in the state wide competitive programs, through the Alaska Division. KPFC started in Homer providing fencing as a sport to Homer area residents and students through the commun

ity schools program that was originally founded by coach Wes Cannon. Wes provided a solid foundation for all students in the Olympic sport of fencing. Currently the Homer chapter is coached by Scott Meyer and Ethan Ford, who learned the sport under the coaching guidance of Wes Cannon. Currently, the Homer Chapter is on hiatus and may resume sessions in the future. KPFC has now expanded to the Soldotna/Kenai area and meets at The Anchor of Hope Church of Kenai. Peter brings many years of fencing experience to the Kenai club. His energy and enthusiasm for the sport helps keep new fencers engaged while still teaching sound foundations to the sport. If you wish to join us for an introductory session and to check out our sport, please download, print, and sign this waiver to bring with you. ATTENTION KPFC FENCERS!!
NOW HEAR THIS!
WE NO LONGER HAVE A SALLE AT KCHS.
Our application for room use was denied due to the number of extracurricular activities being held at random times in the lunchroom.

We are desperately in need of a facility to house our activity.
We are a non-profit organization operated by volunteers. All dues cover equipment costs and USFA expenses.

We need a venue that is at least 50 feet in length to accommodate strip distances with 10- to 12-foot ceilings, allowing for safe equipment handling.

If you know of any options or possibilities to explore, please text one of the volunteers as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Coach.

Trust me, this does work: Foiled again!'

Attention Fencers! Thanks to our ready, willing and Abel fencers, we now have a golden opportunity to add the traditional and historical aspects of fencing to our repitior. So, if you are geared up and want to learn how to engage with the Historical form, most specifically the rapier and parrying hand, welcome and Allez!

"Ya can't be a pirate with all of your parts..."

If anyone challenges your pirattitude, and asks you “Just how pirate are you?” we have a T-shirt that is all the answer you need to give them. Sure, talking like a pirate is the whole point of Thursday's holiday, and there are plenty of choice words you could use, “bilge rat” and "scurvy dog...
