The 2015 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross Championship battle has officially come to an end. The battle for first place, in the Girls Sr, (12-15) class, came down to the final race at Loretta Lynn's ranch. Rhiannon placed second making her the second place national champion for the 2015 season. The girls put on an amazing show. They raced like they have never raced before.... in 90 plus degree heat to boot!
We could not be prouder of her efforts and accomplishments, this season, which started off really rough. She was not able to attend the first race of the series due to a school commitment. The second race of the series, in Kemp Texas, was her first national race and resulted in a broken collarbone during Friday's practice. While recovering from surgery she also missed the third race. She went on to compete in all of the following seven races while continuing to recover from a fresh injury. Her determination and perseverance were truly amazing. Whether she placed first, or second, she did it with grace. Life lessons were learned and new friendships were made. We laughed, we cried, we loved the sport and at times I hated the sport. All in all it was an amazing experience and we can not wait until next year.
Thank you to everyone that was so supportive and to our sponsors, Fly Racing, Allsport Dynamics, Motocrossvest.com, and Any Sport Hero Cards. A very special thank you to Fierce Powersports. Not only did Fierce build her one heck of a machine, they took us under their wing, showed us the ropes, and helped in ways too numerous to mention. Thank you also to our employers, YTT Inc. Youngstown Tile & Terrazzo and The Crockett Team, for affording us the time off while our girl pursued her dream. Thank you to Rhiannon's dad for the financial help this season, and travelling to attend her races, and her Grandma Vickie for house and pet sitting while we were gone! Love you all!
