Sorry for the late post but dad was busy having a heat stroke am takin some rest. Our last race we spent what time we had setting up our car an makin sure everything was right. It did make a difference but whatever had us bound up we now gotta make changes in the right direction to make some speed. Had a couple spin outs and didn’t quite have the speed but we did end up finishing both races thank goodness. A little more tweaking and we will be there.

The Best Part of Racing Was Never the Racing

No one tells you this when you first pull through the pit gate.

You think you’re there for the racing.

For the adrenaline.

For the checkered flags.

For the roar of the engines and the smell of race fuel.

But somewhere between the heat races and the feature…

Between the rain delays, borrowed wrenches, kids riding bicycles through the pits, and folding chairs lined up outside trailers…

Something unexpected happens.

You find your people.

People who start out as strangers parked a few spots away.

People whose kids become inseparable before anyone ever learns each other’s last names.

People who save you a seat without asking.

People who hand you the tool you didn’t know you needed.

People who celebrate your victories as if they were their own and quietly stand beside you after the nights when everything falls apart.

Before you know it, the racetrack isn’t just where you spend your weekends.

It’s where life happens.

Our kids won’t remember every finishing position.

They won’t remember every lap time.

But they’ll remember sitting on fences long after the sun went down, sharing candy, laughing until someone yelled that it was time to head to staging.

They’ll remember running barefoot through the pits.

Sliding down the exit ramp.

Swimming in Turn One after a summer rain.

The excitement of a rainout—not because the races were canceled, but because it meant one more night spent laughing with friends under trailers while everyone waited to see what the weather would do.

Trading helmets.

Borrowing bicycles.

Watching fireworks from the back of trailers.

Growing up alongside kids who understood this life without anyone having to explain it.

Those weren’t just Saturday nights. They were the childhoods we never realized we were living.

To every family we’ve shared a pit with…

To every parent who has watched our kids like they were your own…

To every friend who has shared a meal, loaned a part, held a flashlight, pushed a car to staging, or simply sat beside us on the hard nights…

Thank you.

Thank you for proving that home isn’t always a place.

Sometimes it’s a race track.

Sometimes it’s a folding chair beside a trailer.

Sometimes it’s a borrowed wrench.

Sometimes it’s a rain delay that turned into an unforgettable evening.

Sometimes it’s the people who cheer the loudest when your number is called and are still standing beside you when it isn’t.

Years from now the race cars will change.

Drivers will move up.

Kids will grow up.

Some fences will be replaced.

Some tracks will close.

Some Saturdays will become memories.

But the relationships built here…

Those will outlast every checkered flag.

Because trophies collect dust.

Photos fade.

The race cars eventually find new owners.

But the friendships, the stories, and the people who walked through this season of life with us become part of who we are forever.

So, to every family that unknowingly became part of ours…

Thank you for every laugh.

Every conversation.

Every borrowed wrench.

Every shared meal.

Every rain delay that turned into another memory.

Thank you for giving our children a childhood they’ll tell stories about for the rest of their lives.

And thank you for reminding us that the greatest thing we ever brought home from the track wasn’t a trophy…

It was all of you.
