Shoshone County Public Shooting Range The Range is operated by volunteers & donations. NO AR CALIBER OR WEAPONS ARE TO BE SHOT ON PISTOL RANGE - NO EXCEPTIONS. Know what is beyond your target.

Recommended donation $5/shooter
Eye and Ear Protection for all while on site
NO AR CALIBER ammunition, AR pistols or AR rifles allowed on pistol range
Four Fire Arms Safety Rules to be followed at all times
NO Explosive devices, or tracers allowed on site Please follow all rules while on site,

Eye and Ear Protection must be worn by all - shooters and spectators while on site. No Caribines, tanner

1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
2. Always point your firearm in the direction it is meant to be fired.

Full range closure on Monday - September 7, 2026 to allow for the long range gongs to be repaired and reinstalled. Please note that gongs will be coming down again for hunting season.

Range will open when the volunteers have completed the work and come off the mountain.

Thank you everyone for the support of giving Ray Huffman the best send off. He will be missed. Ray was one of the first members that had a vision and followed it to the end. Ray my ole friend everyone will miss you Thank you to all of Ray’s family for allowing us to host this. The community support was awesome.

JUST A REMINDER The range will be closed on Friday - August 21, 2026 for the memorial reception for Ray Huffman. Range will reopen when the reception is over.

The ceremony for Ray will start at 1 pm at the worship center in Smelterville and the reception at the range will follow after that.

If you plan to attend the receptions, you may need to bring a chair. Let’s all get together and share the stories we have with his family.

Sorry for the short notice. The range will be closed in the morning tomorrow - August 6, 2026 and this is due to the fire restrictions - Stage 1 - the range will be removing the gongs beyond the 200 yd range. Also, as per our regular rules -

NO tracers
NO explosives
NO Tannerite
NO API Ammunition
