Our season came to an end yesterday after one of our absolute best efforts all season. There just arent enough positive words to say about this group and this Team. Articulating how proud we all are of them feels nearly impossible.
We spend 6 days a week for 4 months putting so much energy and effort into what we do on the ice which is something to celebrate in itself. And you saw it all year during our games as they were talented, fast, creative, resilient, and fun to watch. What you didnt see was the effort they put into the classroom. The effort and thought they put into all the little and meaningful gestures and acts of sportsmanship and respect they gave to other teams. The eagerness and willingness to find ways to be involved in a community that supports them all so much. And the commitment they gave to eachother as people first and coming together time and time again in support of our own little community inside the lockeroom. They came into the season together as one and we left the rink last night the same way. No broken pieces and stronger friendships and relationships knowing that when we make those around us better and empower eachother to be our best that our entire community big or small is the ultimate winner. This is the real lesson we know they will all take and apply to the next classroom, school, employer, Personal relationship, or community our players find themselves in. That is the ultimate championship mindset and thats what you have with this team as winning our last game doesnt and won't define our season, our efforts, or our players.
We are proud of who we are and the intentions we bring with us. We are thankful to our school, our teachers, our families, and all our community supporters and we couldn't be more excited for what our players and teams future holds. So one last time for the year...
