Crazy to think the first time we ever raced at Colorado National Speedway was in the ol’ Blue Devil, 10+ years ago. We built that car specifically to run both Cheyenne and CNS. A lot of years, cars, and memories later, it’s wild to look back at where our CNS journey started. 🥓 🏁💙

We had a rough night at Colorado National Speedway.

We started the night battling hydraulic issues, but thanks to Dan and Ben diving in (literally) to help, we kept going.

Qualifying brought more trouble. The car lost power on the backstretch, came back suddenly in the corner, and sent us spinning. We qualified near the back under a new transfer rule.

We still felt confident the car had enough speed to race our way in, but during the race the power issue returned on the backstretch, and we ended up the first car out of the show.

Not the result we wanted, but we think we’ve narrowed it down to a fuel delivery issue due to a temperature spike during the power loss. The car’s headed back to the shop, and we’ll keep working until we solve it.

That’s racing sometimes. The tough nights make the good ones better.

We are off in the North Forty at Colorado National Speedway but we hope to still see you in the pits after the races. 🥓🏁

Last night meant more than just laps.

We rolled in and laid down a lower mid-pack qualifying time, our fastest ever. Proud of that, but also honest about it… there’s still more in it, and now we’ve got something to chase.

The mains didn’t make it easy. Not great starting spots, a couple incidents that sent us to the back but we didn’t stay there. Drove both races back up to mid-pack in a 35 car field. Grit over glory kind of night.

And if I’m being real, it tested me. Still figuring out this “new normal” after the stroke, and there were moments where it hit harder than I expected. But what stood out wasn’t just the racing it was the people. So many of you checking in, making a point to ask how I was doing, telling me you were glad to see me back out there doing what I love… that stuff matters more than you probably realize. The relationships we build through competition are truly ones like no other and we appreciate them.

Huge thank you to A-Rod and Colorado National Speedway for letting us give away some “I 🩷 Bacon” shirts, we heard they were a big hit. I only wish I could’ve performed a little better to deserve all the new fans that came from it, and that the weather would’ve cooperated so we could’ve spent more time with everyone in the pits after the races.

Last night wasn’t perfect. But it was progress. And it felt damn good to be back behind the wheel.

I can’t thank Dan at On Edge Racing enough for the help and building a car that is more capable than me. Gives me reasons to keep digging. 🥓🏁

Tomorrow the 7x heads down to Colorado National Speedway for opening night of the Super Stocks. We are lucky to have friends, On Edge Racing, to tow the 7x as ours is headed to Pueblo for PFI’s Speed Fest. We wish we could go and support Sam in his first event in Kyle’s car. He’s going to do great! 🥓🏁
