Keep Your Chin Up | Improve Vision, Freedom, and Rotation in Your Swing

In this video, we break down why it’s important to keep your chin up instead of burying it into your front shoulder during your swing.

When your chin drops and your shoulder buries, it creates unnecessary tension, restricts freedom of movement, and often causes you to pull your head off the ball — leading to poor contact and timing issues.

By keeping your chin up and clear from your shoulders, you allow:
⚾ Better vision on the ball
⚾ Freer rotation through the swing
⚾ Improved balance and posture
⚾ More consistent, powerful contact

Sometimes the smallest adjustment makes the biggest difference. Keep your chin up — and watch your swing open up.

Keep Your Hands Back During the Load | Maintain Separation and Power Through the Swing

Keeping your hands back during the load and stride is key to maintaining separation, connection, and power in your swing.

In this short visual example (no audio), we show the wrong way and the right way to move through the load and stride. When hitters push their hands toward the ball too early, they lose strength, direction, and control.

By keeping your hands back and turning with your body, you’ll:
⚾ Maintain proper separation
⚾ Stay connected through the swing
⚾ Keep the structure of your arms intact
⚾ Fire from a stronger, more efficient slot

Master this move, and you’ll create cleaner, more powerful contact on every swing.

TheBat Angle During the Load | Find the Correct Slot for Power, Direction, and Control

The angle of your bat during the load and forward move can make or break your swing.

In this video, we show both the wrong and correct bat positions by example. When the bat stands too tall, it’s tough to get it back into the slot — making your swing late, off-plane, and inconsistent.

But when the bat stays around a 45-degree angle, your barrel can move directly into the firing slot, giving you:
⚾ A cleaner, more efficient swing path
⚾ Better directional control
⚾ More consistent power through contact

Mastering the right bat angle helps you stay connected, powerful, and on time with every swing.

Fire the Back Hip Through the Inside of the Ball | Build Directional Power, Balance, and Control

Your back hip is the engine of your swing. When you fire it through the inside of the ball, you connect your lower half to the barrel — creating true, directional power that stays on plane longer.

Too many hitters spin around the ball instead of driving through it. By leading the swing with your back hip, you:
⚾ Drive power from your legs
⚾ Stay inside the baseball or softball
⚾ Create a strong, directional path through contact
⚾ Maintain balance and stay grounded throughout your swing

This move keeps your energy driving forward through the ball, not pulling off it — leading to more consistent, powerful contact.

Directional Barrel Release | Stop Rotating Around the Ball and Drive Through It

Too many hitters release the barrel around the ball instead of through it — creating a rotational, sideways swing that kills power and consistency.

In this video, we break down the difference between the wrong way (rotating around the ball) and the right way (driving directionally through the ball).

✅ Learn how to:

Keep the barrel on plane through the zone

Release directionally toward your target

Train your swing by hitting middle and opposite field

Master this move, and you’ll start seeing harder contact, better barrel control, and more consistent line drives to all fields.

Stop Cutting Across — Learn to Extend Through the Ball ⚾🔥 In this video, we show the difference between cutting the barrel across the ball vs extending through it. When you cut across, you’ll create weak contact — balls that slice, fade, and don’t carry. But when you extend the barrel with whip through the ball, that’s when you start driving line drives that carry through the gaps and even over the fence with authority. Stay connected, extend through, and let the barrel work for you. 💪

🚨 Low hands are slow hands 🚨
When your hands drop, your swing path gets long and uphill — making it tough to get to fastballs and stay consistent.

🔥 Keep those hands high and let it fly! 🔥
By maintaining high hands through the swing, you create a better attack angle from the inside, top half of the ball, giving you more line drives, barrels, and consistency at the plate.

It’s all about control, direction, and staying short to the ball.

🚫 Stop Wrapping the Barrel – Stay Short, Strong, and On-Plane 💥

Here’s a quick visual of what not to do vs. what you should do during your load and stride. When the barrel wraps around your head and points toward the pitcher, your swing gets long and harder to control.

Instead, keep the barrel behind your back ear — this keeps the bat slotted, short, and connected. You’ll maintain better barrel control, adjust to different pitch locations, and deliver power from a strong, efficient position.

👉 Stay tight. Stay in your slot. Control the barrel — and elevate your game. ⚾️🔥

Upper Body Control During the Load ⚾🔥
A common flaw we see is the upper body wrapping around the back leg during the load. This causes early rotation, pulls you off direction, and makes your swing too rotational.

✅ The correct move is to maintain posture and position as you load.
✅ Create stretch and tension during the forward move.
This keeps your direction toward the pitcher, helps you stay inside the ball, and lets you use your core and body more efficiently through contact.

Control your upper body—don’t spin it early. Direction wins.

Stop Swaying the Front Foot Back — Stay Hovered and Move Forward. One of the biggest timing killers in the swing is letting the front foot drift too far back during the load. When that happens, it’s tough to get it back down on time — leading to rushed strides, lunges, and inconsistent contact.

Instead, try keeping your front foot hovered slightly out front when you pick it up. This keeps your weight centered, your direction working toward the pitcher, and your timing simple and repeatable.

Watch big league hitters — their front foot rarely sways back. It works forward with purpose, helping them stay on time and in control through every swing.
