One of the most misunderstood concepts in golf is low point control — and this image explains it perfectly. ⛳️
Every golf swing has a bottom, or low point, where the club reaches its lowest position. The key difference between clubs is where that low point should be relative to the ball.
With a wedge and short irons, the low point must be after the ball, allowing you to strike ball first, then turf. As the clubs get longer — medium irons to long irons — that low point gradually moves forward, but it still stays ahead of the ball.
The driver is the exception. Because the ball is teed up, the low point should occur before the ball, allowing the club to travel upward at impact for maximum launch and distance.
If you hit great drives but struggle with fat or thin iron shots, this is usually why: you’re treating every club the same. One swing concept changes everything — control the low point.
Understand where the club should bottom out, match it to the club in your hands, and ball striking becomes simpler, cleaner, and far more consistent. Master the low point, and the rest of the swing starts to fall into place.
