Registration for summer 2025 is almost here :)
APRIL 1st @ 12 PM via our website www.hunsakerswimming.com
We now offer eGift Cards - https://www.hunsakerswimming.com/gift-card
Before registration takes place, here are some things to keep in mind. We strongly encourage you to read it all, especially if you are new to Hunsaker Swimming, as it addresses our most frequent questions:
We are posting 12 weeks for registration. May 26th - August 15th.
Right now lessons are between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. We hope to hold some limited evening lessons at the Whits End Pool at some point, but that will be added at a later date once we get teacher availability. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram, we hope to post most announcements/openings on there in order to keep our impact on your inboxes to a minimum.
Our limited spring sessions will also be added on a weekly basis once the weather improves and we know teacher availability. Stay tuned for that soon!
Each purchase includes 5 private one on one 20 minute lessons, Monday-Friday. This years sessions will be $95 during June and July. If you would like discounted weeks, May and August sessions will be $90. And as always, the week of June 30th-July 4th will be $80, discounted for the shorter 4 day week due to the 4th of July holiday. Our Ultra Private Sessions and Evening Sessions will vary, starting at $95, depending on the amount of instructors. We always do extensive local research and do our best to keep our rates generally less than others. We've noticed that many other local neighborhood swim schools have rates on par with ours or more while often either only teaching 4 days per week, shortening lesson time, selling a punch pass or only offering group lessons. Over our 15 years of teaching, we've seen how important a full 5 days in a row of one on one 20 minutes per day can be and never want to waiver from that. We also are continuing our investment of having multiple supervisors that visit pools all day every day to answer your questions, address concerns, or hop in the water to help with lessons when needed. This is a perk that we hope you take advantage of and feel improves your overall experience.
-As always, we will be teaching on Memorial Day and Pioneer Day. If that doesn't work for your schedule, please select an alternate week.
- Please review our Need to Know on our page so you are aware of all of our policies and the format regarding how we run our swimming lessons.
- Like years past, we will be using a randomized queue system for registration. From 11:00-12:00 on April 1st everyone will be put into a waiting room. Right at noon everyone will be given a randomized ticket number and slowly let into the site in order to avoid overcrowding. Keep in mind if you visit the site at 10:00 and don't refresh until 12:02 you will be put at the back of the line. You must be in the waiting room between 11:00-12:00 tomorrow to have a chance at being close to the front of the line.
- We recommend having multiple cards ready in case you are having issues checking out. With so many people on the website at one time and trying to make sure things run smoothly we cannot take calls/texts during this time to help with these issues. If problems continue perhaps try using an alternate device or purchasing different lessons (in case the spots you are attempting to secure are sold out).
- This summer we have five pools so we are hopeful that you all get a spot that works for you. Also if you aren't able to get the time you wanted, keep in mind we will have a handful of teachers teaching in late April and May this year! These will most likely be posted on a week to week basis so please keep an eye on your email, Facebook, and instagram for updates. We also will be posting additional August lessons at some point once we know our teachers availability so keep an eye out for that.
- Please note additional parking/pool rules at the top of each pools page. Some pools do not have a diving board or have parking farther away than others.
- Please make sure you enter your information and email correctly during checkout or you will not receive a receipt. And we ask that you double check your schedule before registration to make sure you sign up for a week that you know works for you, in order to avoid any cancellation/reschedule fee. These fees are in place because we get charged for issuing refunds and moving lessons around/re-adding spots takes time. If you purchase the wrong lessons, please place a new order and then reach out to cancel the original purchase.
- We are not equipped to send lesson reminders so please add your scheduled lessons to your calendar and make sure you show up at the correct pool on the correct day. We try our best to send out a reminder text if we hear you've missed the first day or two, but this isn't a guarantee.
- If you have a child with special needs, or an older child with a very severe fear of water, please sign them up in April or May. Or late August/September. This is when our most experienced teacher(s) is teaching. Please note they must be potty trained and these sessions are subject to our regular price increase if they fall under the umbrella of our Ultra Private Sessions.
- Please refrain from signing up your child for multiple sessions in the same week (40 minutes of lessons each day that week instead of the recommended 20). This tends to exhaust them and be counter productive. Instead we ask that you sing up for either consecutive or multiple weeks, in our 10+ years of experience we have found this to be the most beneficial.
- We are unable to fulfill teacher requests or let parents know ahead of time which pool to sign up for because our employee schedule isn't always the same and teachers often rotate.
- If you have never worked with us before, please be aware that if your child is new to swimming lessons or water, there is a fair chance your child may be scared at first and may cry. Although it's not fun to see your child uncomfortable, it's 100% normal and we promise it gets better if you trust the process and push through it. We have had incredible success for 15+ years and there are countless testimonials on our google and Facebook reviews if you'd like to hear from other parents who experienced the same thing and saw great results. We believe in pushing our students with love and patience, doing our best to help them feel comfortable and safe, but not allowing them to control the lesson or our teachers. We cannot let our amazing instructors just sit on the steps with your child or not get their face wet for an entire session because that will not get results and takes the spot away from other students ready to learn. If the instructor working with your child believes they could benefit with some extra help, they will reach out to a supervisor or our lead manager Tucker and we will attend a lesson or two to see if we are able to help. Also if you are concerned with your child crying, we can confidently recommend you get them into lessons asap rather than putting it off. Swimming is a very important, life saving skill, and unfortunately the longer lessons are put off, the harder a student will be to teach and the fear and anxiety of water only grows instead of going away. We have worked with many older students, and sometimes adults in our fall sessions, who had been kept out of lessons for their whole childhood and they always require many more weeks and a larger/older instructor that can hold them due to the anxiety and overthinking that comes with being older. If you put your child in when they are eligible (age 3) or close to that age, they will most likely get over the fear much quicker be a lot safer in the water in the long term.
- If you have a child who is not yet eligible for lessons this year, we recommend trying to take them to a pool to play, float around, and lightly dunk them in order to get them used to the idea of water and pools. We also highly recommend pouring cups of water of your childs head every night during bath time, although they may not like it at first, if it becomes a daily routine or a game, we have seen this benefit young students tremendously and they tend to get over the initial dislike fairly quick if you stick to it. This is because most new students don't enjoy water on their face or ears, which can take some time to overcome. But if they already are used to water on their face when they come to work with us, they will progress much faster than they would otherwise, and usually won't need as many sessions with us.
As always, we always suggest a minimum of two weeks, sometimes three, especially for beginners! This is also good for young students who are still learning survival and basic strokes. We usually only suggest 1 week for those who are pretty skilled in the water but could use a refresher or if they are wanting to come back to perfect a certain stroke or skill such as diving. We recommend at least 1 refresher week every summer until a child turns 12 or 13, this is because a student may be a good swimmer at 8 years old, but they often slowly slip into bad habits the following year unless reminded of the correct form/ways to breathe. There are also fun things for older students to perfect like flip turns, diving, or additional strokes like the butterfly. You are always welcome to sign up for more sessions, and if you decide that you are happy with their progress after two weeks, you can always sell the extra weeks via our private Facebook group Hunsaker Swimming Cancellations. If you have any questions about progress, the skill level of your child, or if they need additional weeks, your private instructor will be a great resource and give you an accurate idea on what they believe will be best for your child. We make it very clear to our instructors to never suggest parents to sign up for more lessons unless they really believe they need it.
As you can probably guess this is a very busy time and we only have one person running the show before the summer, so if you have any questions or anything, please send me an email or send us a message on Facebook or instagram, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible :)
Thank you for the continued support!!!
