Michigan Farm Bureau is advocating and sending representation to Lansing in support of HB 5801 and HB 5802.

Their representative was once a member of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) and claims to be an avid outdoorsman. An avid outdoorsman would never contribute to the destruction of a world-class fishery, or the demise that will follow in a domino effect to the local communities that survive due to the recreational draw of the Saginaw Bay, to line an employers' pockets. If you insure with Michigan Farm Bureau, I recommend reaching out to your agent or representative and voicing your concerns with their support of HB 5801 and HB 5802 if you would like to ensure that commercial netters keep their filthy, slimeball hands off of our walleye.

EVEN THE MICHIGAN DNR OPPOSES HB 5801 AND HB 5802, BUT AN INSURANCE COMPANY CERTAINLY KNOWS WHAT WE SHOULD WITH OUR RESOURCES. THIS IS PURELY A MONEY GRAB.

GIVE ME A BREAK. I would like to thank those who spoke or submitted testimony in opposition of these horrible bills.

Jigging for Kings with Captain Justin Dixon over at Slappin Tails Guide Service is a chance you wanna take! Give him a holler, message, or text if you're thinking about getting out to the west side in September. You'll have a chance to find out what it feels like to think you've hooked into a boulder on the bottom, but once hooked, that boulder takes off at mach-5 type speeds. Just listening to a King strip drag is a damn good time on it's own, even if you're not the one fighting it! Highly recommend booking with Justin as he put me on my first King last year and I had an absolute riot the entire time.

We said goodbye to our very best assistant yesterday, the legendary Beagle named Fish.

Fish gave my family 16 fantastic, fun and love-filled years. While 16 years is more than I could've asked for, it still seems short-changed. He was always by my side even while I'd be making baits, well into 3A or 4A sometimes. A 15 year-old kid couldn't have asked for a better dog and Fish delivered in every way. Now 31, Fish was around for more than half of my life up to this point and it's been difficult spending the last week knowing yesterday's appointment at the vet would be his last one. Thanks for everything over the years, buddy. I hope dog heaven treats you well and make sure to say hi to mom and the others for me.

Any orders placed between now and tomorrow morning probably won't make it out until Monday, just because I'm off working on clearing my head. If any of ya have a problem with that, feel free to take your money elsewhere. Make sure to give all your four-legged friends a good pat or two on the head and a treat today in honor of Fish.

🚨 New color alert!! 🚨

This is gonna be a CITY CRAWLER ONLY drop for the time being, but Jig-alow Minnows won't be far behind. Ezop's Pop is what we're calling this, because I think of the old aluminum cans of Sprite when I look at this. Captain Jeff from Jig-N-Troll Charters, LLC came to me and said "dark blue top, Dirty Money green bottom", to which I said I've got just the thing. So here we are and we dropped off what we made for Jeff to give a whirl, and he and his clients have been slaying walleyes on the D every since. If you head to his page, you can see what I'm talking about! 🔥🔥

I haven't tested them on the home waters of the Saginaw River yet, but I'm confident this color will perform with some of the best of them. Hopefully we'll get a chance to test them soon this upcoming weekend if I can squeeze in some time to dip a pole in the water in between shifts in the mornings. Otherwise, happy upcoming opener for those hitting the inland waters this coming weekend!
