IHRA welcomes a brand new drag strip to our sport and to the IHRA member track family.

Hickenpower Drag Strip in Callahan, Florida is in the final stages of construction and will be operational very soon. 🏁

This marks IHRA's 100th North American sanctioned tracks and 114th total.

We are looking forward to watching the Hicken Power drag racing community enjoy a brand new facility and new opportunities to make some memories.

IHRA Expands Global Footprint with Addition of São Paulo International Dragway in Brazil

FAIRFIELD, OH — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) continues its global expansion with the addition of São Paulo International Dragway (SPID) as an official IHRA member track, marking a significant step in strengthening the organization’s international presence in South America.

Owned and operated by Pro Mod racer Sidnei Frigo, SPID has established itself as one of the premier drag racing facilities in South America. This partnership reflects a shared vision to grow and elevate drag racing on a global scale.

“While we continue to build momentum across the United States, it’s equally important that we invest in the ‘International’ side of IHRA,” said IHRA Owner Darryl Cuttell. “The addition of Brazil strengthens our global footprint alongside our member tracks in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Sidnei and his team have developed a first-class facility, and we’re proud to welcome São Paulo International Dragway to IHRA.”

“We’re excited to become an IHRA member race track,” said Frigo. “My team and I have invested significant time, resources, and passion into building SPID into a premier destination for drag racing in South America. After seeing the vision and direction Darryl has for IHRA, we knew this was something we wanted to be part of. We’re proud to join the IHRA family.”

The addition of SPID further supports our long-term vision of building a unified global network of tracks, racers, and events, while creating new opportunities for international competition and collaboration.

IHRA Promotes Doug Foley Jr. to Chief Operating Officer of Drag Racing

FAIRFIELD, OH – March 4, 2026 – The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has promoted Doug Foley Jr. to Chief Operating Officer of Drag Racing, expanding his leadership role within the organization as IHRA continues to grow its national racing programs and strengthen relationships with racers and tracks across the country.

Doug Foley Jr., who has already been actively involved in IHRA operations, brings a deep understanding of the organization and the sport to the position. A second-generation drag racer with lifelong roots in the racing community, he has been immersed in drag racing through competition, team operations, and the business side of the sport.

Doug Foley Jr. is a multi-time six-figure winner in big-money bracket racing, highlighted by victories at the $300,000 St. Patrick’s Day $300K and the $130,000 Firecracker Bracket Nationals. His accomplishments on the track reflect the experience he brings to his expanded role within the International Hot Rod Association

In his new role, Doug Foley Jr. will oversee the operational ex*****on of IHRA’s drag racing programs, working closely with tracks, racers, and event teams to ensure successful national events while continuing to build and grow IHRA’s drag racing platform.

“Doug Foley Jr. has grown up in this sport and understands it from every perspective as a racer, as part of a team, and as someone who truly cares about the future of drag racing,” said Leah Martin, President of IHRA. “Having already been part of the IHRA team, he brings valuable insight into our racers, our tracks, and the direction we are building for the future.”

Doug Foley Jr. said he is honored to take on the expanded role.

IHRA Surpasses 110 Sanctioned Tracks, Becoming Global Leader in Drag Racing Facility Sanctioning

Fairfield, OH — February 23, 2026 — We have officially reached 111 sanctioned drag racing facilities worldwide, marking the largest sanctioned track base in IHRA history and establishing IHRA as the global leader in drag racing facility sanctioning.

This milestone represents a 70 percent increase over last season and the most significant year-over-year growth our organization has ever recorded. Since December alone, 58 new tracks have chosen to join the IHRA family. This total does not include facilities recently acquired by IHRA.

The last time IHRA sanctioned 100 tracks was in 2012. Today, our sanctioned facilities span six countries, reflecting renewed global confidence in our leadership and long-term vision.
