🚨 IHRA SPORTSMAN SERIES UPDATE! 🏁

The $300,000 IHRA Sportsman Bracket Racing Series World Finals will be contested at Darana Motorsports Park in North Carolina.

Home to some of the best traveling events and series in the country, Darana Motorsports Park will welcome IHRA World Finals qualifiers for the season ending championship for IHRA bracket racers on November 5-7, 2026.

The IHRA World Finals is an invite only event for eligible IHRA members who qualify by winning their IHRA sanctioned track’s points championship or meeting the eligibility requirements and winning an IHRA Team Finals main event. Any of IHRA’s 115 member tracks may submit their champions for eligibility verification.

More event details will be posted in the coming weeks on the sportsman racing page of IHRA.com.

The $300,000 IHRA World Finals eligibility deadline is coming July 1st.

Do you want all your points you've earned at your IHRA home track in the IHRA Sportsman Drag Racing Series to count towards qualifying for the IHRA World Finals?

Do you want to earn a spot in the IHRA World Finals by winning the IHRA Team Finals main event?

IHRA SPORTSMAN BRACKET RACING SERIES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY UPDATE

At the beginning of the season, IHRA needed to redesign and expand the membership and licensing systems to better accommodate all the various motorsports disciplines recently acquired by IHRA. There were many tracks that were at the beginning of their seasons during this transition time that were unable to register for the Sportsman Bracket Racing Series World Championship program. At the same time, thousands of racers were converting their WDRA licenses to IHRA and the system and the people behind the scenes were simply overwhelmed.

In an effort to make sure that no racer falls victim to the changes and possibly misses an opportunity to qualify for the $300,000 IHRA SBRS World Championships, IHRA will be altering the track points eligibility rule for the 2026 season. The current rules package states that no track points will count towards a SBRS track championship and ultimately world finals eligibility until they register for both track points and the IHRA SBRS program.

The revision to that rule effective June 1, 2026 is any and all track points earned by an IHRA license holder of record as of July 1st, 2026 will be considered towards their eligibility for qualifying for the IHRA World Finals. July 1st is also the upcoming deadline to be an IHRA license holder and become eligible for World Finals by winning a Team Finals main event.

For the sake of simplicity, this season both of these will use the same July 1st deadline. This change applies only to a racer's eligible track points that will be reviewed by IHRA to determine a SBRS track champion. This change does not backdate any track points if a racer failed to join the points program at their local IHRA track.

This will give everyone ample time to have any previous problems with IHRA membership fixed.

Welcome back to IHRA sanctioning Holly Springs Motorsports. 🏁

The most recent signing moves the IHRA member track family to 115 sanctioned tracks globally. 🌍

Holly Springs is back under the management of track owners Bebop and Aileen Davis and are returning sanction to IHRA for the benefit of their racers.

We look forward to welcoming the Holly Springs bracket racing community back to the Sportsman Drag Racing Series and seeing the team at the IHRA Midsouth Team Finals in October.

IHRA welcomes a brand new drag strip to our sport and to the IHRA member track family.

Hickenpower Drag Strip in Callahan, Florida is in the final stages of construction and will be operational very soon. 🏁

This marks IHRA's 100th North American sanctioned tracks and 114th total.

We are looking forward to watching the Hicken Power drag racing community enjoy a brand new facility and new opportunities to make some memories.

IHRA Expands Global Footprint with Addition of São Paulo International Dragway in Brazil

FAIRFIELD, OH — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) continues its global expansion with the addition of São Paulo International Dragway (SPID) as an official IHRA member track, marking a significant step in strengthening the organization’s international presence in South America.

Owned and operated by Pro Mod racer Sidnei Frigo, SPID has established itself as one of the premier drag racing facilities in South America. This partnership reflects a shared vision to grow and elevate drag racing on a global scale.

“While we continue to build momentum across the United States, it’s equally important that we invest in the ‘International’ side of IHRA,” said IHRA Owner Darryl Cuttell. “The addition of Brazil strengthens our global footprint alongside our member tracks in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Sidnei and his team have developed a first-class facility, and we’re proud to welcome São Paulo International Dragway to IHRA.”
