May is water safety month! When you're around the water, please remember to:
1. Keep eyes on kids around the water at all times. Designate a Water Watcher to supervise. A water watcher is an adult who avoids distractions like phones, conversations, reading, etc. They should switch about every 20 minutes.
2. Learn how to swim! Formal swim lessons are important for everyone to learn how to swim. It's never too late to learn!
3. Barriers - make sure pools are properly secured to help prevent unsupervised access by children and pets.
4. Keep safety equipment close - a life preserver, a reaching pole, a charged phone to call 911 if needed, and a first aid kit. It's also a really good idea to take a CPR class!
If you'd like to get started on your journey to learn how to swim, reach out to us at [email protected] to sign up for a free trial class. Trial class for May 31st are now open for swimmers ages 3 and up!
