Goose numbers are looking strong heading into the season.

Many Arctic and Subarctic nesting areas saw early or average nest initiation, leading to encouraging spring productivity across much of the Arctic. Hunters can expect promising flights with Ross’s geese up 217%, Midcontinent specklebellies up 115%, and Atlantic Population Canada geese up 68%. Overall, breeding populations and production point to good prospects this fall.
