AITA for writing a complaint against a estate agent and getting her dismissed?

Me (f22) and my fiancé (m23) are getting married in 2 months and have difficulty securing a rental property in this economy.

We found a perfect two bedroom home with a garden and a driveway for a affordable price in the city. We rang the number on the ad and was put through to this woman, from the start she seems unbothered and very dismissive like she wanting to get us off the phone and generally unhelpful. She took our details verbally and said she would get in contact with the landlord with our and get back to us.

A week goes by and nothing, we were pretty keen on the property so we called for a update and she said she will send us a email to fill out (asking about our income and such)... like wtf why didn’t we do this when we first called. We filled it out and sent it to her within 10 mins. 3 weeks go by and nothing again, no update or anything. Very annoyed at this point we requested to deal with another staff member who called us back within 30 mins and told us the landlord accepted another offer.

Honestly I really felt like she wasted our time, so I looked online for her boss’s email and sent him a very upset email about the unhelpfulness and rudimentary service we received from her, I expressed it has really dampened our first impressions of the company as a young couple.

I received a email back the next day apologising and he even showed me very similar...

AITA for telling my mom I refuse to fix a problem she and my stepsister created?

When I was 15 my then 19 year old stepsister had a baby. She was still living at home at the time and didn't know who the dad of her daughter was, so my mom and her decided I would need to babysit every day after school until someone else got home. This went on until I turned 18 and moved out of my mom and stepdad's house and in with my brother who was the same age as my stepsister. My stepsister and I were never sisters, we never called each other family or had a relationship built on anything. So I never regarded her daughter as my niece and I never planned to be an overly involved figure. After I moved out I saw her three times in the past six years. I did not have a strong attachment to her and I certainly never considered her like my own.

But my mom and stepsister have hyped me up to her. They have told her that all these stories that are simply not true. Stories about me cuddling her to sleep and how I used to call her my little baby, how I adored her more than anyone else in the world. My mom had taken a few photos of me and her that she had staged at the time. They show her those as if they were moments my mom had walked in on. So she has been waiting for this aunt figure who considers her their own child. And when we saw each other three times this year, mostly focused on the fact...

Aita for breaking up with my girlfriend and telling her what she did was cheating whatever she says?

OK, I feel like this is ridiculous, and honestly, her reaction is more hurtful than the actual action. My relationship with my now ex girlfriend, has been fairly turbulent for the past say year and a half (together 4) and during big arguments, she has a habit of 'ending the relationship' but this only ever lasts at most a few days. She does this often, and from what she's said herself in the past, we both know that it's just anger and we aren't really broken up. Immature of her but that's a different story. I recently found out, that on one of these times, where bare in mind there was not a single day we weren't in contact, all be it arguing, she hooked up with someone else. When I found out, her reaction was to bluntly deny that she'd cheated. We 'weren't together' so she doesn't even feel like she did anything wrong. Obviously I've dumped her, and she's saying that isn't fair, because it wasn't cheating so I have no reason to be angry. Am I f*cking crazy here or is that the biggest joke of an excuse imaginable? She said she's sorry because it hurt me, but is fully insisting that she didn't actually cheat so it wasn't wrong and I'm being unfair to her. So, as afr as I'm concerned, she absolutely did cheat. This was one, at most 2 days of being 'broken up' with constant contact, aita for telling her that she is a cheater, and I want nothing to do with her?

AITA (31F) for only giving kids in my neighborhood special Halloween bags vs the regular candy I give everyone else?

Halloween is one of my most favorite times of the year. My husband and I have two little ones so we know almost all the kiddos in our block through the kids/school. Usually for Halloween we get a swarm of kids who don’t live in our neighborhood because I guess we’re known for better treats here? Anyways this has caused problems for us because we usually make Halloween goodies for the kids with cool things in it usually ranging from $5-$10. We’ve run into cases where we’ve had so many random kids in the neighborhood that by the time kids I actually know come over, the goodies are all gone.

Last year my husband and I decided to just get a big of candy from Costco to give to the other kids and just save the Halloween goodies for kids we personally knew. Well afterwards my son came home from school and told me some kids from his school apparently stopped by our house(we don’t know them) and were mad they didn’t get the special bags. I do feel bad but we can’t afford to give a hundred kids these special bags, we usually set aside like 30 bags for all our neighborhood kids. AITA?

AITA for not wanting my dad's wife to refer to me by name or as her "bonus-kid" in interivews?

Just joined reddit to get some perspective on this...

I'm 29F, and my parents divorced when I was 15. My dad remarried when I was 20, and his new wife (L) is a sort-of-famous radio-profile in our country.

L is occasionally interviewed by newspapers or other media, and she is often asked about her home- and lovelife. Which would be normal and perfectly fine, if not for how she consistently refers to myself and my older siblings by our full names and as her "bonus-kids". Problem is, our last name is unique. If you meet a person with that last name, then that person is 100% related to us. We are, in short, extremely easy to find, which makes this doubly uncomfortable. I've had people contact me on FB asking if I know L or what it's like to live with her and all kinds of outright invasive questions. My sister has looked up the law on name-changes to see if she can take our grandmother's maiden name just to avoid all of this, and I'm considering taking my fiancé's name when I get married.

L always had a habit of acting like our mom, which is frustrating and annoying at best and downright insulting at worst since our mom is very much alive and in our lives. My sister and I always said we were uncomfortable with that, and L never listened. After the first interview, we told her also that we didn't want to be referred to as her "bonus-kids", because we're adults and don't like to be referred to like we're kids. L...

AITA for refusing to go to my cousins wedding unless I get a plus 1?

My (27M) cousin Carly (27F) is getting married in September. Growing up me and Carly were always ridiculously close. We were in the same grade and were best friends at family events. Our family is close knit and a traditional type of American-Italian family. Whenever I first started dating a girl named Paige (26F) me and Carly would double date. Paige and Carly became close during the few times we hung out. So I have a dating preference. I like to date women that have high earning jobs. I don’t hide this on my dating profile (where me and Paige met) or in real life. I don’t directly ask what someone makes but I just want to make sure it fits what I see my future lifestyle as. I don’t want to financially carry someone or have a large income disparity. So 2 months into our relationship I found out Paige was lying about her job. She was actually a secretary which is not the job she was telling me she had. So I ended things, which caused me and Carly to have a major falling out. That was 2 years ago and we haven’t really spoken since. I recently found out that Paige and Carly remained close friends and Paige will be in the wedding as a bridesmaid.

Whenever Carly got engaged she called me and I congratulated her. She said she wanted me there and to hash things out, and asked me to be an usher. I agreed, then I got my invite I saw it was for just me. I thought nothing of it...

AITAH for telling my wife that raising someone else's kid is not your responsibility?

My wife (35F) and I (35M) are newly weds. The first year has been challenging and this is frankly due to her family and her sister. Her sister has a child (of course she's not married and the father isn't in her life). Her sister has recently asked more and more and more from my wife. Can you take her here, can you take her there, can you feed her, can you buy her this, can you baby sit this week. I mean, this is taking a significant toll on our relationship (mentally and financially***). I absolutely believe you should do what you can to help your family/siblings but these are one off events not every week!

Most recently, her sister expressed that she cannot pick her up and take her to school because of her job schedule. I told my wife this isn't our issue. She is the mother and that is her responsibility. My wife mentioned she understands BUT that's her niece....

Most importantly, and I will emphasize this better, my wife has MISSED days from work because she feels guilty she needs to take care of this child. This results in her having to spend money on breakfast, lunch, going to the store (of course the kid wants to buy something) and whatnot. And what's even crazier is she always needs to feel to apologize for saying no when she can't babysit (due to her work schedule).

AITAH for telling my wife we aren't responsible for raising her sisters child?

AITA for telling my brother's wife she has no business interfering in things that have nothing to do with her?

My brother is a deadbeat dad to two of his kids, his oldest two sons. He abandoned his ex and went out of his way to make sure she didn't get child support out of him. By the time his oldest would be old enough to start figuring s__t out she moved so they could have a fresh start and not have to worry about possibly finding out how much he didn't want to be their dad. She also cut me out of their lives, which I got. The younger brother of the guy who was giving her and her kids the middle finger after creating both those kids is probably not someone you fully trust.

The boys and I have contact now that they are both adults. My brother is not aware of this. We are mostly estranged and I don't think very highly of him. I'm a single dad and would never abandon my kids.

My brother got married 5 years after he abandoned his sons. His wife wanted to meet me when they got engaged and made a very big deal out of us not being close and me saying no to meeting her several times. She pushed me on the reason why and I said I didn't respect deadbeat parents. She said he wasn't a deadbeat and his ex kept him away from the kids. I told her that was a lie and he had gone out of his way to sever his obligations to those boys. She didn't believe me. I told her I was present during fights between him and...

AITA for calling my parents' plan stupid?

I (17m) have a sister (one month away from 15) who recently had 3 of her good friends die. She was very energetic and, to be honest, rather "girly" before that. Now she's stopped styling her hair (something she spent a lot of time and effort doing once), she does the bare minimum bathing and grooming, and wears the same few hoodies and sweatpants. More strangely, she's been going at cardboard boxes with a knife until they look like the product of an angry animal. She's also been drawing herself hanging out and doing activities with these two characters I've never heard of: Sunny from Omori and Kris from Deltarune (if anyone has knowledge, appreciated)

Our parents want to "incentivize" her to go back to her old self. They talked about removing the non-pink and white girl stuff from her closet while she's showering and redecorating her room while she's at a cheer practice(which they haven't let her quit after she asked) to try and "get her into the correct headspace"

I straight up laughed and called that the dumbest idea I ever heard. They ignored me at first, but I continued and said that I will not let them live their failure down.

They said if they wanted my thoughts, they'd ask. Things got heated, and I said that with them, there's no wonder she's miserable.

They've begun to give me the silent treatment. AITA?

AITA My dad and his wife threw my mom's things in the trash and I took them back out and refused to give them back?

My mom died when I (17f) was 10 and my dad remarried almost 3 years ago. Last month my dad's wife got mad at my dad for keeping so many of mom's things or things that symbolized their marriage. He kept her engagement and wedding ring in a box, his own on a chain around his neck, my mom's postcard collection that she started as a kid, her favorite stuffy, a bottle of her perfume, her keychain, her passport holder, cooking and baking books she used to experiment with and a locket she wore

all the time. My brother (20m) and I got her jewelry and other items she had. They were shared between us after mom died and they're at our aunts house for safe keeping.

My dad's wife said she wanted all that stuff gone and the wedding photos and any couple photos of them and any family photos had to be put away if mom was in them. But the rest had to go. My dad fought back for like a day and then they started throwing all the stuff in garbage bags and they were brought out to the trash.

When they weren't looking I took all of it and brought it to my aunts to keep it safe. It took two days for my dad's wife to realize the trash was empty and then she and my dad realized I had taken the stuff. My dad's wife went crazy and said they were in the trash for a reason.

I told her I wasn't letting my mom's stuff go...
