We finally got to meet our son on Thursday evening! World, meet our son, Hamilton ("Milo") 🩵 We'll probably gush later about how sweet he is and how in love we are with our precious tiny human, but for now, he's here and we're prioritizing getting to know our sweetheart and learning to cope with sleeplessness.

We're beyond grateful for the congratulations, gifts, and love and support we've received the last few days and throughout the pregnancy. If we haven't said it yet to you explicitly, please know we do see and appreciate every single bit.

Hi! Something you may not know about me is my lifelong battle with depression.

I've learned to develop a variety of coping skills to function in a world focused on hyper-productivity and conformity, but there are moments, days, phases, where I have to just exist in it to heal from it.

Destigmatizing mental health is super important. And it's not just having conversations about language - it's also choosing empathy in moments where society says we have no right to do, think, act, etc. in a way that's not confirming to social norms. Like spending a day hiding from the world under a blanket.

There's no "getting over" or "moving on" from it; it's an intrinsic part of who I am, who I've always been, and who I'll always be. And my depression has taught me a deep sense of self-awareness, empathy, patience, and humility.

Be kind to yourself. Be vulnerable with people. And when you can, share your love and light with the world around you.
