Congratulations Lulu!

⭐️Lulu is our final scholarship recipient. She’s 17 years old and remembers our beloved Laura from when she was just a little mouse in the Nutcracker. 🐭 Lulu says that Laura made everything exciting, always encouraging her and the other kids to enjoy performing. Lulu has also performed with Gladstone Theatre in the Park - another one of Laura’s passions. 🎭 She states that she hopes to have a career in the arts where she “can be creative and be part of something that brings people together.” Lulu recalls that she’s always wanted the arts to be a big part of her life, so we’re proud to play a small role in that by awarding this scholarship. 💖

Congratulations Kynleigh!

⭐️Introducing our next scholarship winner: Kynleigh, age 13! When asked what she loves most about dance, Kynleigh says she enjoys challenging herself and learning new skills. Kynleigh remarks that she admires patience in her dance teachers and says that she strives to be patient as well because someday she wants to be a dancer teacher herself! 🥰 She notes that she is really excited to get her pointe shoes and continue improving every year. We look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in dance and are glad to be part of her journey with this scholarship. 👏

Congratulations Ava!

⭐️The first scholarship winner we’ll introduce is Ava. She’s 15 years old and plans to dance all the way through college in hopes of becoming a professional dancer. 💖Ava also has a heart for teaching while she serves as an assistant for younger dance classes. When asked what she loves most about dance, Ava said that she loves how it makes her feel “in the moment” and that “worries go away” when she’s dancing. We wish her the best and are happy to award her a scholarship!🎉

Introducing our new Drama Teacher, Danielle Trebus!

Danielle Trebus has been a theatre educator for 36+ years. She spent 25 years at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, KS as assistant to the Chair of Theatre, Van Ibsen. She received a MA Education degree there and went on to receive an MA in Theatre History from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Danielle then spent 11 years as Director of Theatre at Staley High School in the NKC School District. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of Gladstone Theatre in the Park. Danielle has extensive experience in directing, costume, makeup, lighting, sound and prop design. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and talents with your students.
