We are Stonewall Sports - Kansas City | We are an inclusive, low-cost, high fun sports league, managed as a non-profit with a philanthropic heart. We believe every person should have the ability to feel comfortable being oneself in organized sports. Our league will value each player for who they are and what they bring to the leagues’ community. We believe organized communities have the ability and responsibility to support others in need. in 2010, Stonewall Sports has raised over $800,000 nation- wide for local charities within 27 chapter cities across the U.S. In 2023, Stonewall Sports KC had a record breaking year with 2,514 player registrations this equates to a 59% increase in league participation from 2022. We are the space for a guaranteed sense of belonging and friendship with people in the LGBTQIA+ community.

We’ve heard your feedback about the current location of our kickball league, and we’re excited to share that we’re actively working with Kansas City Parks and Recreation on the possibility of bringing kickball back to Midtown KC for the Fall 2026 season!

Making that move possible, however, depends on all of us. Returning to Midtown is only achievable if we have enough volunteers to safely and successfully run the league.

To make this happen we need a minimum number of volunteers -
20 Umpires
4 Equipment/Field Managers
6 Field Crew

These numbers aren’t final, but we do need at least these numbers to move forward.

If we do not reach these volunteer numbers, we will not have the operational capacity to move back to Midtown and will need to return to Blue Valley for the Fall 2026 season.

The Volleyball Director position is still open! This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the sport with responsibilities such as timeline and league planning, sports budget, ordering t-shirts, and maintaining rules and regulations! If you've been looking for a way to give back to the Stonewall community, this is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact as we're looking for someone to step into this role so we can make our winter volleyball season happen. This position in particular is extremely important as without a Volleyball Director, we will not have the Winter 2027 Indoor Volleyball Season!
