KWI Saddle Club A non profit organization that hosts equine events and activities. KWI Saddle Club is a non profit organization located in rural Kankakee, IL.

This club promotes a fun learning environent that seeks to educate youth and adults in sportsmanship and horse care We serve all residents of Kankakee, Will, and Iriqouis counties a place to learn, practice and compete through equestrian activities. On the grounds of KWI, we host approximately three Gaming shows and three Pleasure shows every year. Throughout the year, we try to stay very active t

hrough our community with many other events and activities that are horse related. The atmosphere here at KWI is very laid back and fun, yet can be competitive and spirited. Thank you to each and every one of you that came out to the shows today! It was a hot one but we got it done!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help set barrels, poles, run the gate. None of it went unnoticed. Thank you so much!

The ground held up great with those wicked fast horses today! That was a fun speed show!

We hope you had as fun of a day as we had hosting you! The last gaming show of the season is September 26th. We hope to see you there!

Hi everyone.
Just a note on KWI Saddle Club
We will not be holding anymore pleasure shows this year due to the low participation.
It cost to much to put on these shows and we as a small club can not afford to loose money.
We will revisit this later this year and make a decision about next year. High point will be based off of the two shows we have had. Sorry about this but hopefully we can get more people to sign up to show and help out.

Notes for the September 5th show:

* Concession stand will be open and the taco truck will be there as well.
* Only vehicles with trailers can park on the east side of the arena. Vehicles without must park on the west side.
* It’s going to be a hot one. Make sure you and your ponies stay hydrated.

As always we need barrel and pole setters and gate help. Everyone did a great job pitching in last show. Let’s do it again!

Honest post incoming:

Do you love your local saddle club the conveniences it offers? Now is your chance to step up and get involved so it can continue. Tom and I are not going to be retaining our officer/board member positions after this season. With some family decisions we’ve made recently we will not have the time to be tied down to the maintenance and preparations for shows next year.

I have checklists of stuff to be done to prep for a show. I have show forms made. I have all of the stuff with the State and the IRS in the order for our non profit status. You literally just have to walk in and follow the calendar I have set up to get this stuff done.

There are two shows left for the gaming season. I would like to be able to train someone before the end of the season.
(I am in no way saying we will not help out if we are around next year. If we are available we’d love to help out.)

Each of us are in a different season of life. It’s time for the next set of hands to take on the task. Without people stepping up your local club could end up closing.

All gaming show starts at 10am

Here are the 3 show bills. The only difference between the 2 gaming show bills is the shows start times. Be sure to check the date and time of the show.

What a great show on Saturday! Thank you to ever who came out! A special thank you to all the volunteers! We could not do do these shows without help.

Thank you for your patience with getting results posted and points updated. (We had junior high & high school rodeo on Sunday so I was tied up with that)

Here are the results for the 8.22.26 show.

Ok my friends….its looking like it’s a go for Saturday! Tom and I have both been up there working multiple days already...

Ok my friends….its looking like it’s a go for Saturday! Tom and I have both been up there working multiple days already this week. The arena is looking pretty.

There are a few things to take note of:

1) we are short on help. I have nobody in the concession stand. I will try to get snacks but there will be no cooked food. Drinks I plan to have in a cooler by the sign up window. You can pay there.

2) we will have a new face at the sign up window for this show. Barb cannot be there so Cathy is filling in! Bring smiling faces to the window. We want her to come back! 😂

3) please please please sign up for your classes early. I have more on my plate and late sign ups throw a wrench into things. If I’ve already done the draws you’ve missed your chance to enter the class. I won’t have time to add you, do the supplemental draw, and reprint the announcers list.

4). We are going to try real hard to start on time and run through this show. We will not stop for a lunch break (since there is no lunch being cooked). There are a lot of events going on this weekend. We want to get you in and get you out so you can go out and enjoy other festivities!

5) as always we could use pole setters and barrel setters. No previous experience required. Will train 😂

We are excited to see everyone again! It’s been a while!
