HOʻOMAIKAʻI KHOOL! 🌺

What a beautiful return to the Hula ʻŌni E stage! We are so incredibly proud to celebrate our KHOOL ʻOhana for placing in every division we entered! 🏆

A huge hoʻomaikaʻi to our KHOOL Kāne, who took 1st Place in Kāne Group ʻAuana! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to one another truly shined on the stage. We are so proud of the way you represented our hālau!

Ho‘omaika‘i nui to all of our Kāne and Wahine who represented KHOOL with such pride, passion, and aloha. Every placement is a reflection of the countless hours, sacrifice, and dedication that went into preparing for this competition.

A special ho‘omaika‘i to our soloists, Chevy Peters and Ulumahiehie Beazley, for their wonderful performances. And a HUGE congratulations to Chevy Peters, who took home the title of Mr. Hula ʻŌni E 2027! 👑

To every single one of our group Kāne and Wahine dancers, this success belongs to you. Your hard-earned accomplishments are a testament to what can happen when we work together, support one another, and remain committed to our hālau.

Hula isn’t just about perfect technique, discipline, or getting every step right. It’s about the people who stand beside you through every rehearsal, every challenge, every laugh, and every milestone. It’s about the friendships that become family, the bonds that last a lifetime, and the memories made both on and off the stage.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and the same can be said for hula. It takes kumu, kōkua, parents, siblings, friends, and an entire hālau ʻohana working together to help each dancer grow. We lift one another up, celebrate each other’s successes, and carry each other through the hard days. In the end, the greatest gift hula gives us isn’t just the ability to dance it’s the lifelong connections, aloha, and ʻohana we gain along the way. 🤍🌺

This past week, our beloved Kaikamāhine of Keolalaulani Hālau ʻŌlapa O Laka took the stage with Aia i Molokaʻi Ko Lei Aliʻi, a mele honoring the beauty of Molokaʻi and celebrating the beloved Queen Liliʻuokalani, whose grace and strength are likened to the treasured places of the island.

With poise, intention, and unwavering dedication, our girls brought this mele to life, representing not only our hālau, but the ʻike, traditions, and legacy entrusted to them. Every practice, every sacrifice, and every moment spent preparing was reflected in their heartfelt performance.

Our Kaikamāhine were awarded Second Place in Kahiko, an accomplishment that reflects their hard work, discipline, and love for hula.

To each of our girls, mahalo for carrying yourselves with humility and pride. You have honored your kumu, your ʻohana, and all who came before you. We are endlessly proud of the dancers and young women you are becoming.

Hoʻomaikaʻi, Kaikamāhine. Your KHOOL ʻohana celebrates you today and always.

Yesterday, our kaikamahine took the stage with grace, strength, and heart, delivering a performance of “He Lei No Liliʻuokalani” that made us incredibly proud. Under the direction of Kumu Hula Keolalaulani Dalire, Keolalaulani Hālau ʻŌlapa O Laka honored the legacy of our beloved Queen with humility, precision, and aloha.

Mahalo to everyone who cheered on our girls—they danced beautifully and represented our hālau with honor.

But we’re not done yet…

Our Kaikamahine take the stage today for Kahiko after months of dedication, discipline, and countless hours of preparation. Every chant, every step, and every heartbeat carries the legacy of those who came before them.

Girls, trust your training, dance with your hearts, and leave everything on that stage. We already couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you.

To everyone watching… keep your eyes on our girls. They’re coming with purpose, passion, and something special. This is only the beginning.

Good luck, Kaikamahine! Go out there, represent with pride, and hōʻike the world who you are. We believe in you every step of the way. ❤️🌺

One of our favorite Keiki Hula traditions is our annual gift-giving day. 💛

This special tradition reminds our haumāna that hula is about so much more than dancing it’s about building relationships, showing aloha, and caring for one another. Each child exchanges a small gift with another member of the hālau as a simple gesture of appreciation, kindness, and gratitude for the friendships they’ve built throughout the year.

It’s never about the size or cost of the gift, but the thought, love, and intention behind it. Moments like these help our keiki understand that the strongest hālau are built on encouragement, generosity, and aloha for one another.

Mahalo to all of our ʻohana for helping keep this beautiful tradition alive. 💕🌺
