“Skegemog Aurora Glow”

We had just come back from our trip to New York City when my Aurora App notified me that there was major Aurora activity. I decided to try a different location to photograph the Aurora. There was a boat launch at Skegemog lake that would give me a new perspective on the Aurora. I saw the green band in the Northern sky and knew that I needed to be patient with the Aurora. We also had a full moon rising from the East that was challenging me how to expose for the Aurora. This is the first image that gave me thrills as the Aurora danced in the sky.

Thursday October 10th was the most amazing Aurora event I’ve ever witnessed. Luckily I had my bestest friend Kristy Zitta Avery with me and she was doing a great job getting her images as well. Another beautiful night of Aurora on Skegamog Lake. I wimped out and only stayed till about 12:00am. The Space Weather app had the BZ still strongly from the South which would indicate more Aurora through the night. Hope you enjoy what I did get. This has been a phenomenal year of Aurora.
