Miracle League of Northwest Montana Our main program is summer baseball for ages 3-adult. But it’s more than playing a game. The result is a bond that cannot be described.

Miracle League of Northwest Montana is providing athletic and social connection opportunities for children and adults with special needs and disabilities of any kind or severity. From the Miracle League Website:

"The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Since the main barriers for these adults arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional leagues, Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other athletes. To help the athletes, the Miracle League uses a “buddy” system – pairing each player with an able-bodied peer. The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities, which causes them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional Baseball leagues. The first Miracle League field opened in Conyers, Georgia in April 2000. Word spread and by 2002, fields opened in South Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia, Illinois, and California. There are presently 240 plus Miracle League Organizations across the country including Puerto Rico and Canada, while serving 200,000 plus children and adults."

Thank you all who came to our first Guns and Hoses Community Event and those who supported us with donations and slugger fest entries.

Special thank you to the Kalispell Police Department members who played our Competitive Team and the Kalispell Fire Department members who brought their engine and sprayed our athletes! They had such a great time during both of these parts of the event.

Good job to our Slugger Fest participants and our 6 division winners. We had some incredible batters! Hopefully we can build this competition in the future.

Reminder - Today is the Guns and Hoses Event at Miracle Field.

Water park still scheduled. Hoping it continues to warm up. Lots of other dry activities also, including a bounce house, yard games, inexpensive concessions.

12:00 competitive team plays the police department

1:00 slugger fest batting competition ($5 fee)

2:30 on field water park by the Fire department and other games.
(No charge for miracle families. By donation for non-miracle families)

Parking may be challenging with football going across the street. There is parking at the college and a walking tunnel under the highway for overflow needs.
