Northern Rockies Outfitters, Ltd. Northern Rockies Outfitters, Ltd. is owned and operated by Rich Birdsell. We are based on the Flathead River near Whitefish, Montana.

Northern Rockies Outfitters, Ltd.™ offers first-class Montana fly fishing and Montana big game hunts with a professional guide. Our location is just minutes from Glacier National Park, the Great Bear Wilderness and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. We have the best, most experienced fly fishing guides and hunting guides in Montana. Our summer season is busy with our river float trips, horseback rides and hiking trips all with fly fishing as our main objective. We take folks of all abilities to the many different fishing destinations around western Montana including the Clark Fork River, the Blackfoot River, the Missouri River and of course our home river - the Flathead. In addition, we are also able to arrange trips to the Middle Fork of the Flathead as well as the North Fork of the Flathead. Be sure to see, Two Medicine Hike and High Mountain Lake Fly Fishing! When fall arrives we switch to our well-known guided hunting trips. I offer world-class hunts for Trophy Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, archery elk, and Antelope. A majority of our hunts take place in areas known for trophy quality.

The deadline to apply for Antelope, Deer B, Elk B, Sandhill Crane, and Swan licenses is June 1st. Don’t wait until the last minute!

Applications must be submitted online, at an FWP office, or through a License Ambassador. Most FWP offices that sell licenses are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
FWP provides several resources to assist applicants, including instructional videos for both residents and nonresidents and the MyFWP mobile app. The app allows users to store and access licenses, permits, and E-Tags, even without cell service.
