Congratulations Paige!
Congratulations to senior Paige Zeigler!
Last night at the Southwest Michigan Ski Conference Award Ceremony, Paige Zeigler and JT Roethlisberger from Mattawan High School, won the Andy Miller Award, an award that is considered the conference’s highest honor.
The award is named after Andy Miller, a ski racer from Portage Central, who passed away. The family has honored their son’s legacy with the Andy Miller award for the four-year high school skier who demonstrates the same kind of genuine affection for skiing that Andy felt.
Paige throughout her ski career at Hackett Catholic Prep has displayed to her team, as well as the other conference athletes and coaches, how to conduct yourself as both a racer and a person. She has never wanted the spotlight. After every practice and race, has quietly helped move equipment and break down courses, even at races hosted by other teams. Over the past four years, she has been countlessly recognized for her courtesy and politeness towards others. Outside of ski racing, she has volunteered with the Special Olympics to help those less fortunate learn how to ski. Paige always has a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and a determination to inspire and help others. There are so many examples of how much she loves skiing, but it is best represented by her desire after every practice and race to always have “one more run”. She is very deserving of this honor, and the ski team is thankful to have had her on the team the last four years.
