Celebrating 75 years of the Jennie K. Wilson Invitational ⛳️🌺
This weekend, Mid-Pacific Country Club proudly hosted the 75th annual Jennie K. Wilson Women’s Invitational Golf Tournament, continuing one of Hawaiʻi’s most storied traditions in women’s amateur golf.
Originally founded in 1950 by the MPCC Women’s Division, the Jennie K was created to promote and grow women’s golf in Hawaiʻi, quickly becoming one of the premier amateur championships in the islands. Named in honor of Jennie K. Wilson, a beloved Hawaiian cultural figure known for her grace, hospitality, and aloha spirit, the tournament has carried her legacy forward for generations.
This year’s championship added another memorable chapter to that history as Chloe Jang captured her first Jennie K title in a dramatic sudden-death playoff victory over two-time champion Alexa Takai. Jang’s steady play and composure under pressure earned her the title after finishing the three-day championship at 221 (+5).
For 75 years, the Jennie K has brought together generations of golfers, volunteers, families, and supporters in celebration of competition, camaraderie, and the continued growth of women’s golf in Hawaiʻi. Mahalo to all who helped make this year’s tournament so special.
