Aloha MMA School family,

I want to share something special with all of you. The Honolulu Open will be happening on July 12, and this is an IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) event. I would truly love to invite all of you to come represent our team with me.

This event is especially meaningful to me because I am planning to step out there and compete as well. As many of you know, I have never been the type of instructor to pressure anyone into competing. I have always believed that each student should choose their own path and move at their own pace.

But this time feels different.

This is a chance for us to come together, challenge ourselves, and proudly represent everything that MMA School stands for—heart, courage, discipline, growth, and family. Competition is not just about winning medals. It is about facing yourself, learning under pressure, and growing stronger through the experience.

I truly believe every student at MMA School should consider being part of this one. Whether it is your first tournament or one of many, this is an opportunity to support one another, step outside our comfort zone, and create a memory together as a team.

Let’s show up for ourselves, for each other, and for our school. Let’s represent with pride, unity, and the warrior spirit that makes our team so special.

If you are willing to join me, I would be honored to have you by my side.

I will also let all of you know soon how to register for the event.

Making the best of what the storm gave us.. Unfortunately we sustained some water damage, but we’re using it as an opportunity to do some deep cleaning! .m.a.school will be back better than before when we reopen for classes. See you all tomorrow!
