Every dancer starts with the basics.

This week, our Primary and Level 1 dancers spent time building foundational skills, exploring movement, and discovering the joy of dance.

At WHDT, we believe dance education is about more than learning steps. It is about developing confidence, discipline, creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

These early years are where dancers begin building the foundation that supports everything that comes next, both inside and outside the studio.

We loved spending the week with these young dancers and watching them learn, grow, and gain confidence through movement.

Thank you for helping make Snow White Ballet such a special afternoon.

This past weekend, our dancers took the stage at Kahilu Theatre to share a story that has inspired generations through movement, music, and imagination.

Productions like these are only possible because of an incredible community of dancers, teachers, families, volunteers, audience members, and supporters who believe in the power of the arts.

To everyone who attended, encouraged a dancer, purchased a ticket, volunteered their time, or supported this production in any way—thank you.

We are incredibly proud of our dancers and grateful for the opportunity to share live dance with our Hawaiʻi Island community.

As we celebrate Snow White, we are also looking ahead to an exciting summer filled with camps, intensives, and new opportunities for dancers of all ages and experience levels.

NEW TIME!
This workshop will explore the dynamic foundations and evolving practices of movement through the integration of various styles. We will explore the classical Limon and Graham techniques while also incorporating contemporary dance nuances to experience the beauty of versatility in movement. Students will develop strength, awareness, coordination, musicality, and artistic expression while engaging with principles of breath, weight, fall and recovery, contraction and release, floor work, improvisation, and spatial awareness. We will also learn choreography and repertoire from Ad Deum Dance Company’s 2025-26 season, some of which was performed on international stages. Drawing from both historical modern dance traditions and contemporary movement practices, students will cultivate versatility, individuality as movers and performers and experience the beauty of dance!
