I made a finger adjustable clamp for the "invisible selfie stick" on my 360 camera mount, using a hose clamp and a washer. The hose clamp is mounted in place with a rivet, and the fiberglass/carbon pole is protected with a PVC sleeve. This should hold my camera securely even when I get (inevitably) pummeled by waves.

From about 1975 with my 1959 VW beetle. That is my 7'10" (used) Brewer semi-gun on the roof. I could only afford one surf rack, like many Kailua / North Shore surfers back then. Gas was about $.59 a gallon. A few years earlier before the oil embargo gas was $.35 a gallon. And you could make a surfboard for $35 with a kit from Fiberglass Hawaii, which came with a glass-on skeg. (update) This looks like I was parked on the boat ramp at Kahana Bay - the original Alii surf spot, and Kahana Valley where 100,000 to 300,000 Hawaiians lived before Westerners brought disruption and disease. (I think my current GF Julie took this photo).
