About Gerry & Shara Madrid
Hi!! We are Gerry and Shara Madrid. We’ve both had a passion for helping others our entire lives, and we absolutely love being fit and healthy. We want to help others feel what it’s like to truly love their bodies and gain the confidence that comes with being physically fit.
Our fitness journeys started as children. We were both involved in sports at a young age. In high school, Gerry played football and baseball, and I was a cheerleader, played volleyball, and swam.
Gerry’s fitness journey continued as an adult. In 2005, Gerry competed in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s bench press contest where he lifted 305 pounds, winning the gold medal in his category. In 2015, Gerry’s father-in-law invited him to run the Honolulu Marathon with him. Although Gerry enjoyed running and ran on a regular basis, he had never run in a marathon. Still, Gerry accepted the challenge and actually finished the marathon 2 hours faster than his father-in-law did!! He continues to lead by example, having run in the annual Baker 2 Vegas relay race the last 2 years. In both years, Gerry completed his leg faster than he was expected to – and he fully intends to finish even faster next year!! He also competed in the 2017 World Police and Fire Games, earning a gold medal alongside his teammates in the dragon boat event. Prior to the The Games, Gerry had never even heard of dragon boat racing. Yet just as with every other challenge he’s been faced with, he dedicated himself to it and exceeded all expectations. Gerry also plays on his department’s softball team.
