RACE RECAP — P2 ON THE NIGHT
Definitely an eventful night, but we kept fighting and came away with a 2nd-place finish in the A Feature.
Qualifier 1:
I had to come in for a pit stop that delayed my time by around 20 seconds. I ended up 20th quick out of roughly 40 cars, with only the top 10 locking directly into the A Feature.
Qualifier 2:
I put together some solid laps, but by this point the track was dry and worn in, making it tough to find enough speed to crack the top 10. I finished 12th quick, which lined me up 2nd in the B Main.
B Main:
Started 2nd and fell back to around 5th early, but quickly worked my way back through the field and into 2nd. The leader eventually had a flameout, putting us out front. From there, I was able to lap the entire field.
The car ended up breaking on the final lap, but luckily I was the only car to cross the line before the clock expired, giving me the extra lap and securing the B Main win regardless. With the top two transferring, we were headed to the show.
A Feature:
Rolled off 11th and wasted no time moving forward, making my way all the way up to 2nd within the first couple of laps. From there, I held onto 2nd for the remaining 15 minutes and brought it home P2 on the night.
A crazy night with plenty of adversity, but we kept digging and made the most of it.
Huge thank you to Brent Axup for giving me the opportunity to run his stellar equipment. Really appreciate the trust and the chance to wheel such a great race car.
