Big fish like big baits. When fish get over a certain size they have few natural enemies. Their diet changes and anything that will that will fit in their mouth is on the menu! I once found a whole Muscrat in the stomach of a big blue cat. They eat things that you wouldn't imagine. I've had Giant largemouth bass blow up on twenty inch rainbow trout as I'm trying to release them. Imagine what a sixty to eighty pound catfish or larger would be capable of! If you want big fish use a big bait!

I'm a big fan of light crossbow bolts because of the many advantages they have over heavy bolts. Light bolts have a flat trajectory that allow the use one aiming point from 1-40 yards! Heavy bolts on the other hand have a rainbow like trajectory requiring you to have multiple aiming points for the same distance. That means if they use their twenty yard aiming point and the target is thirty yards they will miss! For some reason many people seem to think heavy bolts have more killing power than lighter bolts but this isn't true. When game is shot with a bow or crossbow death comes from tissue damage and blood loss. That's it! That's why shot placement is so important. It doesn't matter if the bolt weighs 350 grains or 1350 grains. A passthrough is a passthrough! Energy remaining in the bolt after it passes through an animal stays in the bolt until it stops moving. Bullets on the other hand may knock down or totally incapacitate game crushing tissue and bone.

I've learned a few things over the last fourty plus years as an outdoorsman. There are several different types of fishermen and figuring what kind of fisherman you are on any particular day will help you be more successful. One type enjoys catching large numbers of smaller fish with an occasional fish up to up to ten pounds . The second type had rather target fish over ten pounds and catch eight or ten fish a day. Another type had rather catch four or five fish per day but the majority of the fish will weigh around thirty pounds with an occasional big fish.
