I have been asked over the years about some of the things Jacob and I would say during our time as announcers on the DSN. We would talk about the Pepper Hill Social Club, Johnny Loutre and mention the X Wildcat, the Rev, etc...
From time to time, we mentioned "Corporate". You didn't want to get a text from "Corporate" during a broadcast because it usually meant you were in trouble. Of course we were joking.
I have been asked who Corporate is. Most folks figured it out, but there was quite a few who didn't. For those that don't know, she is the second Lady from the left in the picture below. She is my wife Melissa and after 25 years of dedicated service to the Junction City School District, she is retiring. She helped start the Dragon Sports Network in 2013 and more than anyone else, she helped make the DSN what it has become. And she is responsible for those famous DSN brownies.
Melissa also helped with starting and running the Dragon Football Wall of Honor. There are not enough words to say what her help has meant to the DSN and the DFWOH.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Melissa for helping make Friday nights during football season better for folks and for preserving Dragon sports history. Your efforts in both of those endeavors are greatly appreciated.
Congratulations on a job well done.

P.S. Are you still going to make the brownies?

Hello Dragon Nation,

Today is bittersweet for me as I am retiring from JCSD-NECC after 25 years. I have been the "face" behind the school page and have enjoyed interacting with you for the past 13 years through this page. My favorite part has been "bragging" on our students whether it be for academics or athletics or both! Our page has garnered over 6,000 followers since its inception and I'm thankful for each one!

I spent the first 8 of my 25 years as the JCHS computer lab manager, then I was tasked with creating a school website in 2008 while still working in the computer lab. In 2012, I started our school page and then finally in 2013, I became the Information Technology Manager and tackled another website, an app, and the outside LED district sign, along with helping to create the Dragon Sports Network.

Thank you for the memories...these past 25 years have been the very BEST for a Dragon Fan! We've had some great students and athletes to pass through these halls and they have many Championship rings and wonderful professions to prove what a great era it has been! Goodbye and may God bless each one of you and your families!

Oh Shuvasceiaye...our hearts are broken:( How do we live without your smile that could light up a room? How do we live without your sweet spirit? It will be difficult to say the least, but we will try...Dragon Nation will try...and we will do it for YOU!

It is with saddened hearts that Junction City School District-NECC offers our deepest condolences to the family of 2018 JCHS Graduate Shuvasceiaye Frazier. Vasceiaye was tragically killed in a wreck this morning not far from the bordertown that he loved and played so hard for! Please be in prayer for his family and friends as well as our school because he was so loved by all.

Dragon🏈Legacy: Shuvasceiaye will always have the distinction of being the first Dragon quarterback in school history to rush for a thousand yards in a season. In 2017, he rushed for 1,417 yards on 170 rush attempts and scored 19 touchdowns. He also passed for 1,260 yards and 17 touchdowns. Frazier is still the only Dragon to rush AND pass for a thousand yards in a season. He led the Dragons to a 13-1 record and a State Runner-Up finish in 2017. He was named the 6-3A Conference Outstanding Back and Quarterback that season and earned all-conference and all-state accolades.🏆

I was getting ready to start my eighth-grade year of school at Junction City and not looking forward to taking one particular class - English. If you have heard me announce a Junction City football game on the DSN you will understand why.

I could never wrap my head around all the adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions and sentence structures. I had passed previous English classes, but my confidence was at an all-time low. I was dreading English with a capital D which is what I hoped to make in English instead of an F, until I walked into Mrs. Jamie Armour's class.

I can say without a doubt, Mrs. Armour changed my life. Instead of working on my weakness, she took a strength I had and used it to defeat my weakness. I love to read. It is a passion of mine. Any subject that I like, I have to read everything on it. Whether it is history, sports, westerns or music, I must read it all.

After the first six weeks, Mrs. Armour assigned me book reports. Not only did I have to get up in front of the class and talk (she made me overcome my being scared to do it) she also had me do a written book report then grade it with me sitting by her side. She always encouraged me to continue to read and to never stop. Forty-seven years later, I continue to read regularly.

The confidence Mrs. Armour gave me, I continue to draw on to this day. It has helped me get promoted at work and it helped me on a September night in 2013, when I got in front of a microphone with my son and did the first game on the Dragon Sports Network. I could hear her telling me what she told me when I got in front of her class to do a book report. Just relax and tell us what you read. So, I relaxed and announced the game like I was reading a book, you might say. In the end, I passed her class (got a B) and moved on.

The last time I saw her was at a banquet in El Dorado. I walked up hugged her and said I love you.

My memory is not what it once was. I can't remember who won a Super Bowl a few years ago or who won what award, I would have to think about it. But if you ask me to name some people who impacted my life, I could do it immediately. One of those people would be Mrs. Jamie Armour.

Thank You Mrs. Armour for believing in me.
