An annual scuba cylinder inspection involves much more than checking for corrosion and replacing O-rings. Certified VIP inspectors are also trained to identify manufacturing defects that may have gone undetected during production.

This particular cylinder, manufactured by Cyl-Tec, exhibits significant internal folds that exceed acceptable tolerances. While budget-priced cylinders purchased online may appear to be a good value initially, hidden defects can lead to costly issues and safety concerns down the road. This isn’t the first cylinder we’ve encountered issues with from this company.

Regular inspections play a critical role in ensuring that cylinders remain safe and reliable for the guy filling your bottles.

Manufactures whom almost never have issues like this are: Faber, Catalina, and Thunderbird. All in which we stock.
