At Kristy's Dance Academy we strive to stay on the cutting edge of the current dance trends, but still give our students a strong hold on tradition with strong technique and knowledge of terminology. We offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz/Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, and Tumbling for Ages 2 & up. Our faculty is certified by test to teach and we are members of Dance Masters of America. We

are always attending workshops and conventions across the United States to stay on the lastest trends and to improve our teaching techniques so that we can give our students the dance & tumbling education they deserve. We have been named the best place for dance & gymnastics lessons in the Yadkin Valley for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

What a FUN first day back at KDA! 💗🩰✨

Our Thursday dancers and tumblers kicked off the 2026–2027 season with so much energy, excitement, and lots of smiles! We loved having everyone back in the studio and starting another wonderful season together. 💕

💗 Meet Our Office Staff — Jamie Woodruff 💗

If you’ve stopped by the KDA office, chances are you’ve seen Miss Jamie! She serves as our Administrative Assistant, greeting families, taking payments, answering parent questions, helping children get safely to and from their classes, and stepping in wherever she’s needed to help keep KDA running smoothly.

Jamie is a graduate of Elkin High School and Surry Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Business Administration. She retired from ECMD, Inc. in August 2025 after 40 years of dedicated service. During her career, she worked in Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, and Treasury, ultimately serving as Corporate Assistant Secretary.

Jamie loves working with children and is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the KDA family. She is also an active member of Friendship Baptist Church of Elkin, where she serves on the Youth and Children’s Ministry Council, is Church Clerk and Sunday School Assistant Secretary, and teaches Wednesday Night Kids.

Around KDA, she’s also known as Miss Kristy’s “Aunt Jamie.” 💕 She loves spending time with Evan and Kinsley, enjoys photography, and can often be spotted riding her red golf cart around Elkin and Jonesville. So if you see a red golf cart cruising by, it just might be Miss Jamie! ❤️

💗 Meet Miss Molly! 💗

Miss Molly has loved dance for as long as she can remember. She spent 15 wonderful years training at Dance Upstairs, Rhythm on Main, and Kristy’s Dance Academy, where dance became much more than an activity—it became a second home.

As a competitive dancer for 13 years, Molly performed with nationally award-winning teams and earned titles including Petite Miss Dance USA 2012 and Miss Dance USA 2021. She also spent several years as a main classroom assistant under Mrs. Kristy, where she discovered how much she loved teaching, encouraging, and connecting with younger dancers.

Molly’s passion for children extends beyond the studio. She holds an Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, along with certifications in Infant/Toddler Care and Early Childhood Preschool, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Birth-Kindergarten Education at Appalachian State University.

She has also completed her AcroDance Pre-School Certification through Acrobatic Arts, continuing to grow her education and training specifically for our youngest students. 🌟

Miss Molly believes dance is about so much more than learning steps. It gives children a place to express themselves, build confidence, develop coordination and strength, make friendships, and discover a love for movement. She brings patience, encouragement, and a joyful spirit into the classroom and works hard to make every child feel supported and special.

We are so thankful that Molly’s journey has taken her from a KDA dancer and assistant to one of our teachers. Watching her now share the same love of dance with the next generation of KDA students is incredibly special. 💕🩰

💗✨ MEET THE TEACHER — ZOE DAVIS ✨💗

Zoe has been part of the KDA family for many years and continues to train and compete as a KDA dancer, while also growing into a talented instructor and choreographer.

Zoe began assisting with classes in 2022 and has since grown into teaching classes, private lessons, and choreographing competitive routines. She began choreographing at KDA in 2023 and also choreographs for the Elkin High School Dance Team.

While teaching, Zoe continues her own training as a member of the KDA Competition Team. Her many accomplishments include America’s Teen Miss Dance 2025, America’s Junior Miss Dance 2023, America’s Petite Miss Dance 2021, Mini Miss Dance USA 2020, Xtreme’s Teen Dancer of the Year 2026, and Xtreme’s Junior Dancer of the Year 2023. 👑🏆

Zoe continues her dance education through CLI Conservatory Winter & Summer Intensives, Hollywood Dance Intensive Nashville, dance conventions, ballet training with Mollie Sansone, Encompass Prospect, and as a North Carolina Dance Ambassador.

She also performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with Spirit of America in 2023 & 2025 and appeared in Juliana Hale’s “Chill (So Serious)” music video, choreographed by Chi Lopes.

Beyond dance, Zoe founded Pickleball for a Purpose, a fundraiser supporting a local homeless shelter, and is involved in Beta Club, Interact Club, and the Elkin High School Dance Team.

We love that Zoe continues to learn, train, and compete as a KDA dancer while sharing her knowledge and passion with our younger students. We are so proud to have her growing into the next generation of KDA teachers and choreographers! 💕✨

💗✨ MEET THE TEACHER — CARYS BREWER ✨💗

Carys has grown up at Kristy’s Dance Academy, and we have had the privilege of watching her grow from a young dancer into a talented instructor and role model for our younger students.

For several years, Carys has worked closely under Miss Kristy and Miss Hope, assisting in dance and tumbling classes and gaining hands-on teaching experience with dancers of different ages and abilities. She also participated alongside Miss Hope during her Acrobatic Arts certification training, serving as her student demonstrator for skills and spotting techniques.

Today, Carys is a KDA Instructor, teaching dance and tumbling classes, private lessons, and continuing to learn and grow as an educator. She is also a longtime member of the KDA Elite Competition Team and has trained and competed in multiple styles of dance.

Carys continues to expand her dance education through opportunities outside of KDA, including dance clinics at Appalachian State University and High Point University. She has also had the incredible opportunity to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with Spirit of America Dance in both 2023 and 2025. ✨

Outside of the studio, Carys is an accomplished student at Elkin High School. She has been an A Honor Roll student since 2018, serves as Beta Club Vice President, was selected as an Elkin High School Junior Marshal, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Interact Club, Varsity Women’s Golf Team, Varsity Cheer Team, and Elkin High School Dance Team.

One of the things that makes Carys so special to KDA is that our younger dancers now get to learn from someone who has grown up right here in our studio. We are so proud of the young woman, dancer, and instructor she has become and love watching her share her passion with the next generation of KDA dancers. 💕✨

💗✨ MEET THE TEACHER — MICHELLE ✨💗

Michelle has been teaching dance for over 15 years, specializing in children’s and preschool dance as well as tap. Her love for teaching our youngest dancers, combined with her experience and knowledge, has made her such a special part of KDA.

Michelle began her dance training at the former Dance Upstairs and is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she continued her dance education. She continues to grow as an educator by attending dance conventions and continuing education opportunities.

Throughout her dance career, Michelle has judged dance competitions, taught Preschool and Children’s Dance Education to other dance teachers, and served as a Director for America’s Mr. & Miss Dance National Titles Program. Her experience with children extends beyond the dance studio as well, having taught preschool in both churches and private schools.

At KDA, Michelle is especially loved for the patience, encouragement, and joy she brings to her younger dancers, while earning the respect of students of all ages. She loves having the opportunity to pass along the same passion for dance that was instilled in her to the next generation.

Outside of the studio, Michelle is a proud mom to Tyler, Tanner, and Trevin and an especially proud Nana to Archer. 💙

We are so thankful to have Michelle as part of our KDA family and for the love, experience, and passion she pours into our dancers each week! 💕✨
