Golf North Hills Golf North Hills, a public 9 hole course designed by Booney Harper, and built by Jerry B. Craft, is located 8 miles north of Jonesboro on Hwy 141.

There is good news and bads news: The good news is we do not have cart paths at Golf North Hills so all carts use the fairways and you can drive directly to your ball. The bad news is that we do not have cart paths so this requires the course b

e closed to carts in certain wet conditions. These conditions are posted on our page when the weather situation requires regardless of the season. PLAYING CONDITIONS during pre- and post peak season, November through March:

Our greens have Tifdwarf and Tifgreen 328 putting surfaces. These grasses are sensitive to frost so our daily opening is delayed for walkers and carts until the outside temperature reaches 45 degrees during the late fall through early spring seasons. These delayed openings are also announced on our page as the weather situation requires regardless of the season. Dear folks,

We're having a rain shower this morning so we will be opening later than usual. It was really dry yesterday when I was mowing the roughs and fairways. I expect the soil will soak up what ever rain come down. Chris is on site keeping an eye on things soil call will get you some answers about conditions if you're interested.

Poole Irrigation is scheduled to come back next week to finish installing the sprinkler heads and smoothe the areas where the earth is disturbed. Those places will disappear after the fertilizer is applied and water is consistently utilized. We may see turf develop by the end of July. MSBR!

I'm catching up on the mowing and just noticed how beautiful a day it is. The sky's a rich blue, ,the clouds are drifting to the northeast and a breeze is coming from the south keeping everything cool.

The course is virtually empty.

Dear folks,

I discovered this morning that all 3 of the greens mower electric motors were not working. With the help of Ben Elder, we adjusted the backup mower to the proper height of cut and I proceeded to mow the greens.

The putting surfaces are in much better shape now and will be in days to come. If anyone thought they were too long, they were. This is on me. I had an inexperienced person on the mower and he didn't know what to look for. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for us all.

We got no rain today so we will open at 8 tomorrow.

Dear folks,,

The workers putting in the fairway sprinklers are not here today and will be back to finish next week. All fairways but 9 are done. When they return they will smooth the dirt out, I will fertilize the course, begin watering and start to develop turf in the fairways.

As I post this the course is empty. It's a shame to waste such a beautiful day inside.
