The Razorback's came out Hogwild in the first 20 minutes. Connor Hadden gave the Hogs a 3-0 lead early with his first attempt of the year. Lucas Miner would score next by running over a man in the corner of the southeast try line 8-0 Razorbacks!
A 70 yard jaunt by the Panthers fullback made the score 8-7 Hogs, after a converted try. The Panther quickly scored again after the Hogs had dominated early. The big boys in Razorback pack had their way early but the 90°plus heat began to take its toll on the heftier Hogs. The Piggies performed a perfect throw in on a 5 meter line out and breezed in to the try zone. The two packs stopped but there was no whistle, the second rower with ball then tried to take the ball to center post when falling down would have put the Piggies back in the lead 13-12, but the impulsive pack player rumbled on trying to center post, but was denied by a quicker and more heads up back of the Panthers. A huge turn of events in the game. Later in the half Colton Carter ran down a kick and set the ball in side the 5 meter line the Hogs rucked and banged again and again trying to regain the lead right at the goal line to regain the lead but with 2 pack starters knocked out of the game already the try never materialized and the Hogs failed to take the lead at half, instead trailing 12-8. A very intertaining first half, but the missed opportunities would haunt the Hogs in the second half. The Panthers would extend the lead to 19 - 8 with a converted try. The Piggies lost 2 more of their starting tight 5 and the dominating pack play of the first half vanished like a v***r. The Hogs threatened to get back into it when the ball was swung wide but coming back to the middle a knock on thwarted that effort. Not until the final play did Panthers put away with try making it 24-8 Drury. The Hogs were dominate early and pushed the smaller Panthers around, but in the end the smaller more fit team pulled it out to go on a 24-0 run winning 24 -8.
The Hogs travel to Kansas City next Saturday to play a much better team in Central Iowa. Hopefully the Piggies will learn from this game as they gear up for conference play begining September 18th in Stillwater vs. OSU. Next weeks opponent Iowa Central fell to Indianna Tech 27 -21 While Missouri, the following weeks opponent throttled Oklahoma State 43 - 0

UofA 1s led 28 -5 over the 2s @ half in this intersquad scrimmage today here in Fayetteville's Walker Park. Passing and pass decisions where improved from last year. Kicking for post was excellent, kicking for touch needs improvement, admitted the fly half. The pack play and line outs were reasonably played.
The second half saw the two sides inter mixxed into equal teams. Play definitively fell off under a hot sun in the second half. The referee slowed the game for instruction after a couple of collapsed scrums and a yellow card. There was only one player that was unable to continue play due to a collision. So the team avoided any major injuries, pleasing the coaching staff.
The Razorbacks begin play next Friday Sept. 4th at 7pm on the Rec field. The opening opponent will be Drury out of Springfield Missouri. The Hogs will then go on a 4 game road test before returnig for a final 3 home game stretch. There was a nice crowd in attendace that cogragated in the shade, to enjoy this fine college rugby event.

I promise to give all my efforts to bring back Arkansas Rugby Hall of Fame, to keep everyone informed on each and every Sunday night. Scores, interviews and highlights along with schedules and roster. Covid really knocked me out the loop. Just letting you know by fall we will be back at it. I will need at least one dependable person from each to call to get final scores and schedule. I think if there a one shop for alk scores, it might help you keep your sight rolling. The Ozark used to do it, but times have changed but there should be a Rugby event in Arkansas somewhere in Atkansas that club and college teams men and women can all attended. Hopefully the high school teams will call in to and we can get some home grown kids hooked early
