🏀 EXCITING NEWS FROM JACKSON PARISH RECREATION DEPARTMENT! 🏀

We are excited to announce our 2026 Basketball Camp! 🏀🔥

📅 Camp Dates:
Saturday, October 3rd
Saturday, October 10th

📍 Location: Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School Gym
👦👧 Ages: 5–18 years old

We are excited to have Dwayne Lathan with Pro Life Training leading this year’s camp!

This will be a great opportunity for young athletes to develop their basketball skills, learn from an experienced trainer, compete, and have fun!

Registration is now open for 2026-27 Jackson Parish Rec Basketball
Notice game dates are different this year.
We will play all Games at Jonesboro Hodge Middle School Gym. On Mondays Thursdays and Saturdays for the months of Dec and January.
Go to jprec.org to register. All coaches need to register on the website also.

I know it may look like they’re playing a lot of games during the week but if you play on Monday, that means you won’t play on Thursday of that week and if you play on Thursday, that means you won’t play on Monday of that week. Now there’ll be some weeks where you play Monday Saturday some weeks where you’ll play Thursday, Saturday or some weeks where you only play one day of the week it really just depends on how many teams we have.

Today, the Jackson Parish Recreation Board had the privilege of recognizing our 13–14-Year-Old Boys All-Star Team for receiving the Sportsmanship Award at the DBB Louisiana State Baseball Tournament.

What makes this honor especially meaningful is that the Sportsmanship Award is voted on by the other teams participating in the tournament.

While wins, championships, and athletic accomplishments are always something to be proud of, the Sportsmanship Award is one of the most important honors a team can receive. It speaks not only to the type of athletes these young men are, but more importantly, to the character, respect, and sportsmanship they displayed while representing Jackson Parish.

This is high praise for an outstanding group of players and coaches. We are extremely proud of the way they represented Jackson Parish Recreation both on and off the field.
