Lewis University Flyers Hockey Lewisuniversityhockey.com Lewis University’s Hockey Program first full season of league play was in 2001.

They joined the American Collegiate Hockey Association or ACHA D2 conference and Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) the following year. Soon after season’s end in 2012, the team reached out to Tim Picco for his assistance and guidance with the future of the team. Tim Picco was a highly qualified candidate for the job with an impressive coaching resume including a knack for recruiting that could not be overlooked. Tim’s hard work paid off when he was able to recruit 11 new players for the 2012-13 season. The team finished their 2012-13 season with a 17-7 overall record, tied for second place in MACHA and ranked 19th overall in our ACHA D2 central conference. It was a breakthrough season for team and several players who ranked nationally for their point totals. Lewis Hockey has continued to show outstanding growth over the next several years, even expanding to two teams for a few years from 2015-2017. The players have worked hard over the years to maintain its top ranking in ACHA and has moved to a more completive Northern Collegiate Hockey League where they quickly became a top contender. Over the past few years the team has advanced to league playoffs but yet to take home a title. This year marks the start of the club’s sixth season under Head Coach Tim Picco’s leadership and what could possibly be another breakthrough season for the Flyers in a quest for their first NCHL championship.
