Made a trip north this weekend to hit up Royal Mountain for their outdoor race weekend. Ryan had never ran the full outdoor track and Scott hadn't been since 2004!! Practice Saturday allowed the guys a chance to dial in for Sundays racing. Sunday brought slightly more grey and damp conditions in the morning but turned into a great raceday with fantastic conditions. Hat's off to the royal crew, they got started by 8:30 and had motos done by 3:30! 💪👏 Ryan was really flying out there today. Had a couple really good battles in 450c with his buddy lil' Sean and ended up with 3rd, 2nd and a 2nd for overalls finishes in his classes.
Scott also had a good day going 1-1 for 1st overall in 40A. 💚🏁

Very late post from last weekend....Round 12 of the Msc championship series was held at the hallowed grounds of Southwick The Wick 338 Motocross. It's always tough to come to this track, and this time was definitely that. The guys battled through the heat and the sand and although we didn't have our best finishes of the season we definitely improved over our last time racing there (silver linings 🙏) and we were happy to leave in one piece! 💚🏁

Back to the grind for round 11 of the Msc championship series, this past weekend back at Diamondback MX. We were all happy to be back at the track after a couple weeks off. The weather was absolutely fantastic which made for great racing. Moist but loose morning conditions gave way to a dry and hard racing surface, and the boys worked throughout the day making adjustments to the bikes and to thier riding to make the most of the day. Ryan rode smart consistent motos all day resulting in a 1st, a 2nd and a 6th overall. Though Scott struggled with a few falls in moto 1 he rebounded with a holeshot and a good battle with the great Carlo Coen in the 2nd moto ending up 2nd for the 3rd overall. Onward to the Southwick sandbox this weekend! 🌞⛱️

Tough weekend for the #187 team at Ocfmx. A sore shoulder from Ryan's Southwick crash acted up Saturday morning preventing Ryan from getting any seat time Saturday. As a result he opted to only ride 1 class Sunday, Open Novice. He toughed it out and managed 9-6 for 7th overall on the day. Scott had his share of challenges on Sunday getting thrown off while leading in the 1st moto but luckily was unscathed and ended up 4-2 for 3rd overall. With the Msc being off till Diamondback later this month the team is taking the opportunity to rest and heal a bit. 💚🏁

Father's Day weekend was one for the record books out at diamondback. Double points this weekend so the pressure was on and the boys delivered!!
Ryan got decent starts and was in the battle all day long, coming out victorious in 2 classes and a second in the other. Scott was also on point all day taking the overall in +40. This weekend the battle heads back to ocfmx where we get to see if the boys remember how to ride ruts again! 😉🏁

Round 8 at Echo Valley MX: Ryan got off to a rough start in his first Open C moto where there was a gate malfunction and he hit it resulting in his wheel getting stuck, so he started in the back of the pack but persevered and pushed through. He had another tip over but got back up and was able to move through most of the pack to get a 6th place finish. The rest of the day was smooth sailing, where he locked in on his holeshots and was able to score some first place finishes. He ended the day with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in his classes.
Up next for Team McCoy is Diamondback MX for Round 8 of the MSC series!

Southwick regional in the books. We went with realistic expectations of trying our best and set our goal on qualifying straight in Sundays motos which meant top 16 in Saturdays qualifying motos. Ryan did just that!! He did 7 lap motos on a super rough national track and came off puking and completely spent but he did it. Sunday our goals were top 25 and he was able to do that too, until a couple crashes in the 3rd 450c moto ended our day a little early. He's ok, just was completely gassed. All in all a good weekend to see where we stand among the fastest in the country. Now to regroup and head back to the local circuit, next up is Echo Valley Mx this weekend.

Round 7 of the MSC Championship series went down this past weekend at Walden MX. Hats off to the Walden crew for an awesome racetrack and a well ran show that got full motos in and done by 5 o'clock!! 🫡
Ryan found another gear this weekend in his riding and really put the hammer down!! He didn't exactly kill it with most of his starts which had him passing a ton of bikes all day long, but he did manage to get 1 holeshot and really put it good use jumping out to a big lead and ending up with a moto win!! He ended the day with a 2nd, 5th and a 7th for overalls.
Scott decided to mount up for his 1st time since the Diamondback crash and rode a solid day going 2-2 on the day.
Up next for the team is the Loretta Lynn regional at Southwick. Definitely a big race but we're going in no pressure and just going to go have fun!! 💚🏁

Round 5 of the MSC Championship found us at Diamondback Motocross for the Loretta Lynn amateur national area qualifier. Warm dry weather and some stiff competition made for some very exciting racing. Ryan rode well once again qualifying for the regional in all 3 classes he signed up in!! He ended up 9th on Saturday, 4th 7th and 10th on Sunday among fast riders in stacked classes.
Scott won his 1st moto attempting to qualify for the +45 class, but unfortunately got clipped in the 1st turn of his +40 moto and went down hard, ending his day early. He did however qualify for 45 despite not running the 2nd moto so we have to see if he can heal up enough to ride the regional.
Off to the Wick this weekend for round 6. Sounds like a wet one.... 💚🏁
