Womans Self Defense being OFFERED!!
The Department of Campus Safety is offering a R.A.D. Training Course to all women in the community.
The R.A.D. (R**e Aggression Defense) System is a nationally recognized program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
The course will be held on four (4) evenings:
Saturday, October 13th, 6:00PM-9:00PM
Wednesday, October 17th, 6:00PM-9:00PM
Thursday, October 18th, 6:00PM-9:00PM
Monday, October 22nd, 6:00PM-9:00 PM
FREE FOR THE SKIDMORE COMMUNITY
* Participants must attend all classes (12 hours) to complete the program.
* The course location will be announced prior to the start date.
* Since our instructors are only authorized to instruct women, this course is open to of the all women in the Skidmore Community and outside; students, employees, retirees, mothers, daughters (please call for specific information regarding age and requirements), wives, sisters, aunts, and best friends and is limited to the first 25 participants. Participants should plan to dress casually (sweatpants, sweatshirt, with sneakers) and bring water to drink. This course entails some lecture, but is mostly an active, hands-on course with participants actually performing the defensive moves.
