We haven’t been able to get out much this season, but when we do, the dogs are on point! Gut shot where the hunter did everything right to stack the odds in his favor. Congrats Greg, and thank you for trusting my dogs!

Finally got a chance to get out and spend a couple hours in the blind. It’s always great spending time in the outdoors with family. Rebel made short work of this track, and appreciated the opportunity to pull some late season hair.

Kokomo vom Branche aka Rebel. Her first training track in the states. Track was 90yds, laid with a frozen deer hide, and aged 2.5 hours. Rebel did excellent, and at only 9 weeks, her future looks very promising.

Great Tips from a fellow Tracker!

The rut is happening in southern Mi.
Take my advice.
1- avoid shooting the deer in the shoulder
2- if you gut shoot a deer sneak out and wait min 12 hours
3- If u feel you need a dog book one asap!! More deer are being shot right now and not enough tracking dogs available
4 flag your blood Trail with toilet paper
5 seek neighboring land permission before having the dog show up
6 when it comes to tracking a deer after it has rained with a dog this is a good rule of thumb.
If the road is damp the dogs can easily track. If the water is running off the road good chance the scent is too diluted. Dog may or may not be able to track.
Good luck the big bucks are up and moving. Great time to get in he woods.
