On Saturday May 2nd the first Riflemen's Challenge at PTRC. 13 competitors turned out in the cold windy conditions to compete. Competitors ranged in age from 11 to 80+. This match was 50 yard off hand and 100 yard from a bench with no "formal" benchrest equipment. Winner of the Factory Class was Harold Miller with a score of 235 and Dan Sawyer in the Sporter Class with a score of 238. * thursday, was thirsty thursday, in honor of our friend Roy
* friday was the sheriff's breakfast, the board of directors was invited.
* saturday, tree planting, rifleman's challenge, and new york state high school rodeo.
* next week , we get ready for the veteran's picnic in august.meeting at pine tree tuesday, picnic held at the concordia in August.

There will be an organizational meeting at the club Tuesday night May 5th at 6PM for the Assemblyman Robert Smullen Annual Veteran's Picnic.
The picnic will be held at the Concordia Club on August 20th. 4PM until 7PM.
We will need to discuss,
* fundraising
* desserts
* decorating
* set up
* clean up
* registration
* parking
* appetizers and hors d'oeuvres

Your ideas and support are definitely needed.
The main dinner will once again be provided by Edward Sturgess Sr.
With Sturgess Family Catering.
Last year we served 500 guests.
LET'S MAKE THIS PICNIC EVEN BIGGER AND BETTER THAN LAST YEAR FOR OUR VETERANS.

We have set the date for May 19, for the debate for the candidates for Assembly in the 118th.
As of today we've only had two candidates confirm.
Chanda King and Colleen Maxwell.
Again Pine Tree Rifle Club does not endorse any candidate.
The same questions will be asked each candidate, each candidate will be able to bring 25 supporters.
No questions will come out of the audience. The Moderator well select and ask all the questions.
The reason for the debate is so you can educate yourself, and decide who you want to represent you!
We plan on live streaming the entire debate.

We did not say goodbye, to our good friend Roy Palmateer, we said, "we got time for 1 more, then we gotta go"
It was a large turnout that came out and had a few in honor of our friend. It was great seeing some old friends again.
God bless Roy and his wonderful family. I know Roy would be pleased, with all his friends turning out.
It was an honor and a privilege for Rob Hutchins and I, to be able to be there for this great man's family and friends.

On May 2nd 2026, anyone interested in coming over to plant trees, we have received some from new york state, we will all be meeting at the club at 10AM, at the main clubhouse.
Jim Fox is heading up the project. Anyone wishing to help is welcome.
