A Letter from Club Director Trisha
“As many of you know, my heart is completely shattered right now. On Wednesday, my sister Nadia’s fiancé, Nic, and their two sweet babies (ages 3 & 5) were hit by a truck in a crosswalk on their way to a park in Loveland.

Nadia is a former coach here at GRIT and a backbone of our club. She selflessly stepped away to dedicate herself to her kids, but the love and effort she poured into GRIT remain unmatched. She was the first person I called when I started this club. If it weren’t for “Coach Pookie,” I don’t know where we’d be today.

The trauma our family is facing is beyond words:
• Nic sustained severe injuries, was placed in a medically induced coma, and can only see updates of his daughter through photos/video.
• My 5yo niece was airlifted by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital ICU with serious injuries—just a week before starting school.
• My 3yo nephew was fortunately discharged to recover at home.
• Nadia is splitting time between hospitals, staying strong through every parent’s worst nightmare.

While holding onto deep gratitude that they survived, they face a long recovery. Between mounting medical bills, pediatric ICU care, Flight for Life transport, and lost income while Nic is out of work, the financial weight is overwhelming.

Nadia & Nic are always the first to step up for others and never ask for anything in return. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.

🚨 A reminder for our 12’s-14’s: 🚨
This week’s open gyms are your LAST CHANCE to get some reps in before our open evaluations and tryouts begin. Don’t miss this opportunity to sharpen your skills, meet our coaches and get comfortable on the court!

🧡And for our 15’s-18’s:
We still have positions available on some of our 15’s-18’s teams! We are looking for passionate, coachable, committed athletes to complete our rosters. Come show us your GRIT at this week’s tryouts and open gyms.
