After three long, scorching days of softball, Flood City rose to the challenge and took it all, winning the Rage in the Valley tournament with guts, grit, and a relentless team effort.
It didn’t start smoothly. We went 1–2 in pool play, landing the #4 seed heading into bracket Sunday — unfamiliar territory, but this team doesn’t fold under pressure.
Game 1 saw us fall behind 6–2, but the girls never blinked. The rally started with one of the biggest singles of the season from Shorty, setting the tone. EB followed with a massive 2-run double, and the comeback was on. Sydnee capped it off with a bases-loaded single that drove in Kyla for the game-winner in an electric 8-7 finish.
Game 2 was all business. Olivia spun a one-hit shutout to take down the #1 seed, 2–0. Behind the dish, Ava was flawless — throwing out every baserunner who dared try her. Paige and Ella delivered back-to-back doubles to fuel the offense and send us to the title game.
The championship game was a team clinic. Paige started strong in the circle, Ella pitched lights-out in relief, and Olivia recorded the final two outs for the save. Offensively, Paige crushed a solo shot, and Ella’s fifth-inning bomb scored Paige and turned out to be the game-winner in a 5–3 victory.
Defensively, Cam and Callie were vacuum cleaners — turning base hit after base hit into outs with their range and instincts. At third, Karsyn was a wall. She locked down her side of the field all weekend, making big plays in big moments without hesitation.
Weekend by the numbers:
• Kyla, Olivia, Sydnee, Paige, Madi, and Ava all batted over .300
• Only 10 strikeouts as a team across the entire tournament
• Opponents hit just .212 against our pitchers
• Only 11 earned runs allowed all weekend
Proud? That doesn’t even begin to cover it. These girls fought through heat, pressure, adversity, and expectations. They rose above it all — with heart, toughness, and unity.
Rage in the Valley Champions – Built Different. Flood City Strong.
